    Pros

This was a good company to work for at the time before the market crashed

    Cons

    Company was real estate driven

    Pros

Plenty of room for advancement and they hired from within. Overall was a great place to work, until they filed bankruptcy and sold off to FNF.

    Cons

Company was not ready for the decline of the real estate market - cost a lot of people their jobs. Senior management made poor decisions. Odd, everyone could see the end coming, except for the big wigs that steered the company in the wrong direction.

    Advice to Management

Should have made better decisions putting the company in a better position for when the market started to turn. Our 3 biggest competitors were able to stay afloat - no reason why we shouldn't have.

    Pros

Competitive pay and reasonable work load, creating a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Corporate didn't understand local offices and made bad decisions due to this. Wasn't a sense of shared values.

    Advice to Management

Listen to local offices and know what is going on before making bad decisions. Reduce 'good ole boys club' mentality.

    Pros

First job out of college so cant complain too much. Worked like a dog but was paid hourly so got time and a half for overtime. Of which there was a lot of.

    Cons

Overworked but management seemed to genuinely care how you were doing.

    Advice to Management

  9. "Nice people - but it's amateur hour when it comes to managing and accomplishing things."

    Pros

Flexible work schedule. Very, very nice people - easy to get along with. Entrepreurial spirit. Get it done - find a solution mentality.

    Cons

Low pay. Unfocused senior management - they don't do a great job of explaining where the ship is going or how it's going to get there. Entrepreneurial spirit sometimes translates into lack of organization and communication.
Things could be more professional in how they are managed. Basically it's amateur hour. Promises and deadlines are not kept and then there are no consequences from senior managers.
The more senior managers have a bit of a SUPERMAN mentality. They have to be present for all decisions and they have to be the ones that make it.
Bottomline - it's amateur hour. Sometimes it feels like they are just managing by whim and playing at business.

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy and stay with it. Stop making things a highest priority one quarter then abandoning it the next.

Become more professional. Enforce some management discipline. Business is too dificult to just make things up as you go along.
