I have been working at Landmark Hospitals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great co workers & days off is the only Pro I can even think of!! My immediate boss is amazing & truly cares about our department! He would go to bat for any one of us!

    Cons

Administration could care less about their employees or the patients! All they see is dollar signs & there is so much nepotism in that place it isn’t even funny! Some employees who works for their own family can be late, steal food to take Home to their own family & never get in trouble yet others can’t blow their nose without being wrote up! I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to work there or be a patient!!

    Advice to Management

You need to treat your employees better! We are the ones making you money! Patient care should come before money!!!!!

I have been working at Landmark Hospitals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I guess better than being unemployed

    Cons

Charge nurse just dropped F-bombs around a family last night because they wanted to leave, embarrassing to the "good" staff. I need to be checking my own BP around here. Looking for new employment. This is a very hostile work environment!

    Advice to Management

It's too late, should have had a fix long before now.

I have been working at Landmark Hospitals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I like my Director of Nursing. She is approachable and I believe she cares about her staff.

    Cons

I don't think corporate has realistic staff ratios. Benefits need to be improved.

    Advice to Management

A warm body is not a good enough reason to retain bad employees. If people have bad attitudes or don't do their job, get rid of them and hire people who want to work at Landmark!

I have been working at Landmark Hospitals part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are no longer any pros to working here anymore. It's just hanging by a thread. Its very sad.

    Cons

We no longer have enough staff to perform quality care, we find ourselves working with 1 cna and 1 Respiratory Therapist. The staff has been told that if they don't like it then they can leave and that's exactly what they've done and they aren't replaced because there are not any applicants or because of budget cuts. Staffing is overworked and extremely stressed out. The morale is very poor. We don't get the annual merit raise anymore which has been like that for years now after it dwindled down to a mere 1%. The patients and family complain about the care but with as many high acuity patients we have, getting to them all in a timely manner is virtually impossible. I can't believe state hasn't investigated yet. This place is either closing its doors or the owner is too consumed with the landmark in Florida.

    Advice to Management

Have hospital and department meetings and include the chief operating officer so she can explain things to the actual staff and everyone can be on the same page as to why this hospital is failing. She needs to know the repercussions of all her decisions made from budget cuts.

I have been working at Landmark Hospitals full-time

    Pros

Great Doctors and nursing staff. Nice building.

    Cons

Their inability to retain successful and caring employees hinders them from progressing. Their corporate team yells and speaks unprofessionally to the staff. The inefficiencies would blow anyone's mind. It's all about numbers, not how many hours you put in or the relationships you build. It is all about the money but yet the corporate team hinders that part. It is a hostile work environment and you never know when you will be yelled at or blamed for passive aggressive employee behaviors. They don't hire from within. They will interview to make it look like they try to, but they don't.

I worked at Landmark Hospitals (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Great experience with a wide variety of patients
    -Great experience with acute patients
-You will learn what to do in a code
-You will learn how to identify septic patients
-You will be an A+ butt wiper and bed changer

    Cons

-Your patients will be very acute
-You will be given more acute patients than is safe
-You will be paid poorly for your position compared to other hospitals in the area and even more poorly for the amount of work you put in
-You will be lied to about the number of patients you will have
-There will not be enough equipment for your patients
-You will work with great nurses and techs but also incredibly lazy nurses and techs

    Advice to Management

Pay the staff better, accurately determine the acuity of each patient, and change the staffing grid
