    Pros

There's always something going on, even during the slow season we're getting ready for the busy season to approach.

    Cons

The pay isn't as great as it could be. The company could care more about their employees on all levels.

    I worked at Landry's full-time

    Pros

They are the Marines of the Hospitality Industry. Landry's is the industry leader. They gave me the two pieces of develop that I was missing and came to get in order to be the Leader that I am today for another concept armed with financial and leadership skills. They also have a great discount program.

    Cons

Many concepts under the umbrella of Landry's Inc. do not take into importance appreciative respect and consideration for their employee"s needs. Many employees have to work very long hours and often with no break. Management would benefit if they truly and sincerely listened to their staff and give honest responses to their employee's needs.

    Advice to Management

Be honest, upfront and truthful with your staff. They are your greatest resource and army for dealing with such high volume periods. I know that your have programs and systems in place that focus on such positive behaviors, but management either chooses to ignore them or do not care to embrace them.

    I worked at Landry's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working for Landry's can be a varied experience based heavily upon the concept at which you work. My concept was great but there are some that are notoriously difficult to work at. My experience was definitely 5 stars but others I know from other Landry's concepts (Restaurants, Hotels, etc.) have had less positive experiences.
    -Good Pay
    -Generally Good Management
    -Flexible Schedules
-Ability to move upward with experience
    -Corporate is relatively in touch

    Cons

    -Some concepts are open Holidays
    -Some concepts have difficult management

    I worked at Landry's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved my co-workers/cooks. It truly feels like a family dynamic and I will always cherish that. Great starting point for a brand new sous chef.

    Cons

Oh where to begin. If I could give this company zero stars I would or even a negative star rating I would. Things started out great but quickly went downhill. Expect to work holidays and have no work life balance. Expect to cut labor on busy nights to a bare bones crew and expect to get home in the early hours of the morning. Also when you go above and beyond the call of duty you will get ZERO appreciation. Inventory is done every week and it’s always done on New Years Eve. A perfect example is when a chef was training at our store and he actually DIED in the restaurant. Instead of closing, Tilman made us stay open. Tilman has got to be one of the greediest, money hungry people in the world. Worst CEO I’ve ever worked for. This company always acts like they are going to run out of money too. I could go on but I think you get the idea.

    Advice to Management

Hey upper management try treating the subordinates with respect and like they are human beings.

I have been working at Landry's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company provides plethora of training material.
    Not much else.
Really there are no more pros but there is a 20 word minimum for this section.

    Cons

    Understaffed in all departments
Raises for management are rare and hard to get
Company literally has a motto of "take the emotion out of it" which isn't applicable in all HR situations.
    Arrogant executive staff
Very little female representation in all levels of management/corporate
Accountant problems makes purchasing difficult and stressful but yet you are still expected to maintain good cost percentags
No understanding of New York market and refusal to listen to the manages of the brands they acquire
Constantly have your CEOs television show and sports team purchase bragged about to you
Good BOH and FOH employees quit because they force managers to cut hours and cover hourly duties as well as promote sales and drive service

    Advice to Management

Talk to your managers more about what they need to be successful, and act on it. We constantly have to hear about our billionaire CEO yet we are forced to pinch pennies with labor costs. Also you understaff your management teams too much to meet the goals you set for them.
