I have been working at Landry's part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I like the staff i work with. Thats it.

    Cons

now that Landrys has extended days of operation to 365 days a year i find this to be just another selfish, greedy corporation. As we all feel the strains and changes in society most not for the better, we are required to work on special occasions when that should be much needed time with family ex: (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter) as "we" and "I" more personally get older these are the times to cherish. life goes by too fast and the elders are getting older, by the time i retire to enjoy theses dates my parents will be gone. I wish Landry's (Tillman Frittita) would get a clue and not be such a greedy CEO to be open 365 days! If nothing else that he screws his employees out of..let us have the holidays off!

    I have been working at Landry's full-time

    Pros

The discount program and the cafeteria

    Cons

9-6 hours, favoritism , no one knows real retail buying. With the hours 9-6 you don't have time for anything in normal life. Management has the "favorites" HR knows it and does NOTHING about it. With the workload you have to work over time in order to get things done, but not compensated for it.

    Advice to Management

Get a management team that has experience in Retail Buying.

    Advice to Management

Try to treat your employees with some respect and stop hiring and empowering managers with virtually no education, values or common sense.
