Doesn't RecommendI worked at Landry's full-time
Pros
Comprehensive training program, ability to grow career, employee discount program, knowledgeable HR department.
Cons
Upper management leadership is focused on instilling fear as a way to motivate it's employees. Long hours combined with endless amounts of redundant paperwork makes for a poor work/life balance.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Landry's part-time for more than a year
Pros
Coworkers/managers are kind & hardworking people, the discount program is okay for if/when you want to dine at another Landry’s property.
Cons
Paying money to eat family meal? I’ve never experienced that in other restaurant jobs, it’s tacky. Also, the upper management will see a hardworking employee and take advantage of their work ethic until they’ve drained them of all energy and joy. There is little to no appreciation for hourly employees and the hourly pay is less than competitive in comparison to other upscale restaurants in the area. Also - hourly employees are required to be free on all major holidays but there is NO holiday pay, bonuses, etc. for working through the holiday season (which is grueling).

RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Landry's part-time for less than a year
Pros
This is one of the corporate places I want to say I've felt more comfortable at, in the sense that management really did care about their employees, but of course this differs from tem to team. Good training program, very thorough. Since this is a large company theres plenty of opportunity to grow and network within.
Cons
In order to receive an employee discount at your place of employment and at other landrys concepts you have to enroll in a discount program which takes 9 dollars out of your paychecks

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Landry's part-time for less than a year
Pros
High check averages CAN lead to good tips, however because they do not add gratuity, servers don't like taking large parties.
Cons
Harassing/threatening servers to sell LSC cards. No gratuity on large parties. Poor management leading to below average employee performance. Corporate seems to only be interested in sales, not an enjoyable environment to work in. They make you buy into (nearly $20 a month) the employee discount program.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Landry's part-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Good food, infrequent complaints by guests, same schedule every week
Cons
Management attitudes, constant switching up of management, discount program, extensive and ineffective training, it's all about making upper management look good to corporate, nobody cares about you as an employee, frequent mandatory meetings (that are unpaid). Some high ranked "untouchable" servers and managers are lazy. Lots of unpunished sexual harassment in the workplace (perpetrators have been both servers and managers).

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Landry's part-time for less than a year
Pros
Talking to tourists was nice.
Cons
Unorganized management for park grounds. Did not train correctly nor offered help when clearly saw me struggle my first few hours to keep up with large groups, did not want to give me a 15 minute break during an 8 hour shift. Signed up for the discount program to get some water and was denied. I wish they had better structure and were more welcoming. VERY high turnover rate.
