I worked at Language Services Associates for less than a year

    Pros

You’ll spend about 40 seconds to a minute every call, all you would is transfer to the interpreter.

    Cons

You cannot snack at ya desk. Not even a piece of candy or you will be terminated. No phone out. But you are allowed to use coloring books, & do puzzles at your desk.

    Advice to Management

On the first day of training (which consist of 3 hours) we were put on the floor! Any other time the time frame of tranining would consist of 5 days. The hiring manager wanted us to know the “company policy” even though we weren’t given the opportunity to get the regular training! They don’t coach you on your calls but they complain where you mess up at. Some of the team leads make assumptions about you before even getting...

I have been working at Language Services Associates full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the people are really nice. Job is very easy. Managers at the bottom level in every department are okay.

    Cons

Job can be boring. Long hours doing nothing but answering the phone and typing answers in a computer. If you’re not the favorite of the top managers you won’t get anywhere. If you’re a favorite you’ll get special treatment and can get away with a lot. Company is going broke and doesn’t pay well because a lot of people have to have second jobs just to survive.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people. Stop having favorites.

      Pros

Laid back environment. Spend most of my day coloring which is relaxing.

      Cons

A lot of office politics. Managers from every department think because they speak in Spanish no one knows they're talking about other managers and employees. We hear you and we think you're ignorant. No one speaks up because no one would listen. If you try to make things better you become a part of the Spanish gossip circle of hate.

      Advice to Management

Stop talking about people behind their back.

I have been working at Language Services Associates for more than 3 years

      Pros

we get to help others communicate! LSA is an amazing company with hard working people that are on a mission to help others communicate!

      Cons

Immature coworkers that like to complain about everything. I think a lot of the problems started when they hired young immature kids that are Bratty and get upset when they get reprimanded for not doing their job. I have worked at LSA several years and have only had a positive experience. It is a place of great opportunity if you apply yourself and actually do your job and follow the simple rules. i have made great long...

I have been working at Language Services Associates full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Flexible hours since it is a 24/7 call Center. Weekends and holidays off (only if you're full time). Free coffee, but that's really about it.

      Cons

This is not the job to have if you are trying to support a family and I am learning that the hard way. They start you off at 11.00 an hour with no raise in sight. It is a 24/7 call center so your schedule can become very flexible. Management is rarely there to help whenever you need it, and when you do need the help they expect you to stand at your desk and scream from across the call center to get someone's attention....

      Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and raise the pay rate. Most of your 11 to 12 dollar an hr employees are barely making ends meet and have another job just to get by.

I worked at Language Services Associates full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Since Language Services Associates is a 24/7 call center, they are very flexible with hours. I do think that this position was great for students. But that is about it.

      Cons

Where to start... Low pay. You used to get a dollar raise after your 90 days but they got rid of that since they switched to a once call at a time system, which made sense but the system itself if awful and the coordinators constantly got yelled at by clients for the system error. Management would come up with ideas and events but then never follow through. This company is the worst with consistency. One rule would apply...

      Advice to Management

Listen to your coordinators. They are frustrated and disappointed that you don't stick up for them if the situation calls for it. If you listen to your employees, maybe you'll be able to keep them longer.

      No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Language Services Associates

      Pros

One of the most diverse environments I've worked in. Everyone LSA hires tends to be of the same open, friendly, and globally diverse mindset, which makes for a really fun office and easily built relationships with coworkers. The hours are fair and flexible, and management is always -really- understanding and accommodating to staff needs. The pay is relative to the work expected of you, and most of the opportunities,...

Full benefits, you will meet nice educated people from every walk of life here.Free coffee/Tea.You might make friends, If you go with the crowd.Flexible schedule.

      Cons

The pay is basically $12 to start. There are a lot of nepotism, management do not care at all. You will be bombarded with responsibilities which they never explain during the interview. They will clearly lie to you about what the job is going to be. If you do not perform you will be given warnings and some people have been fired two weeks in the job. It is awful place to work. You will never make a career here. This is a...
