  1. "No assignments at all"

Current Employee - Spanish Interpreter in Manchester, NH
      Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Language Services Associates for less than a year

      Pros

If I ever had an assignment the hourly rate and mileage rate more generous than most.

      Cons

No assignments after being told 2-3 a week. Also, very antiquated portal.

      Advice to Management

Don't make promises you can't keep.

I have been working at Language Services Associates

      Pros

Work from home. Health insurance for full time employees.

      Cons

Extremely low hourly wages. High call volume. Lack of communication between managers and quality control.

      Advice to Management

Listen to employee complaints. We all have them. We all report them, but to no avail.

        Negative Outlook
        No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Language Services Associates for more than 5 years

        Pros

At this point, after many years being a contractor, none at all. Gets worse every day. Nothing hopeful for the future.

        Cons

Payment once a month. Extremely low wages for interpreters. No difference if you are an experienced interpreter with many years in the company or a new one. No pay raise ever. Same rate for overnights! No vacation time, sick days, health insurance, retirement plan because we are contractors, so the company should pay a higher rate than barely 6 dollars an hour in South America. We pay from that awful wage 15 to 20%...

        Advice to Management

You should really revise your hiring and payment policies.

I have been working at Language Services Associates for more than 5 years

        Pros

They pay on time, direct deposit.

        Cons

Low rate per hour to the interpreters outside the US. If the calls lasts 3min 59 secs you only get paid por 3 min. Set schedule. No increases, no bonus, no recognition. You pay for your own computer, internet service, headset etc, at a 5.45 per hour rate it's abuse.

        Advice to Management

You pay a lot more to your interpreters in the States that do exactly the same as the interpreters abroad. Increase the rate, offer bonuses, ssay how much you appreciate us. Offer a few vacation time. Keep us happy.
