I worked at LanguageLine Solutions full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Training is constant, many tools to keep your terminologies up to date. Working from home is awesome.

    Cons

Poor communication, takes forever to get a response to any query and it might not have an answer anyway, forcing you to try multiple times to solve an issue. No IT during the weekend or graveyard, so if the system has an issue, you are off until they get back in, without pay, of course. I saw a pay reduction instead of an increase when they stopped giving the trimestre evaluation bonus. I missed those extra 600.00 I got per year. Rarely got feedback after the bonus was cut. Many mistakes in my personnel file, from type of computer I had to address to where I was working out of.

    Advice to Management

Better, much better communication is needed. I can't count the times my SLS changed without me knowing, never knew who to contact so had to go higher up every time. Hear what your employees are trying to tell you!

I have been working at LanguageLine Solutions part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours when you work from home

    Cons

Management is very horrible, like no one is working to answer your question when you need help!

Hired you without let's you know what's pay plan you have, it's like a trap to get in and finally find out have nothing on benefit!

Part-time no benefit at all, only UTO it UNPAID

Payroll not responsibility on incorrect paycheck, they ignore over a week look like didn't want to pay work you work for..

Training & Material are not enough, leader is not response when you need help!

I worked at LanguageLine Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being able to help native speakers.

    Cons

Heavy workload, extremely low pay! The pay is close to minimum wage. The people who clean houses make more money than qualified interpreters. What a shame!

    Advice to Management

Take care of your interpreters. Please set a realistic pay and don't overload the interpreters with back to back calls.

I have been working at LanguageLine Solutions part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent but I heard otherwise. Hopefully it will stay this way. I like the fact that I am able to work from home.

    Cons

I heard eventually everyone will switch to a new system and start doing video interpreting, which I may not enjoy. My major complaint is that some of the calls have very bad connection which makes it hard for me to hear and interpret.

    Advice to Management

During the hiring process, everyone was very cordial and attentive, but afterwards management is less attentive after getting on board.

if you want to have the experience of a real interpreter, Language Line solutions is the place to be, the work is fast paced with a huge variety of situations that will provide desirable experience.

    Cons

little room for to move up.
too fast paced and its hard to take your breaks when indicated because of the call volume.
    low pay

    Advice to Management

please kindly consider a more suitable salary for your interpreters, they work very hard and the conditions are very hard at times.

    Pros

It used to be a nice over the phone interpretation company working on a secure and clear line. Now we work on a laptop with a flaky software and constant technical issues.Very frustrating!

    Cons

This new management has no clue about the interpretation business and now has no clue about the technical support needed. On top of all the interpreters do not get paid when they are put on idle time while they work on their problems. So anethical!

    Advice to Management

Fire all the decision makers of this Company before they run it to the ground.
