I have been working at LanguageLine Solutions as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Working from home, no commuting costs, and you can make your own schedule.

    Cons

Hours not guaranteed, can wait a call for hours and waste your time, you get paid only for actually received calls

    Advice to Management

    Better support to contractors

I worked at LanguageLine Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the managers are wonderful, and I learned a great deal from boss. My Co workers were also pretty supportive.

    Cons

Upper management is pretty cut throat and there is a lot of pressure to sell. I don't like to be pushy with my clients so that felt potentially uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps return to a gentler climate when it comes to sales.

I worked at LanguageLine Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As everything it is an opportunity to learn.

    Cons

There really isn't much room for advancement, it is overly clear that it who you know. Pay-rate is not up to industry standards, they offer you opportunities for new positions i.e becoming a video interpreter; job that requires more knowledge and work, but not a pay raise.

    Pros

If you are looking to work extra hours, over time is available most of the time, with some exemptions, overall a good place to work

    Cons

There is no opportunity to grow, vacation days are available but not paid, worst health insurance ever, expensive with little coverage

I have been working at LanguageLine Solutions part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home....no commuting...no lunch expenditures, you do not have to deal with unfriendly co workers, you can wear whatever your heart desires, flexible schedules, you can have weekends off. 401k for part time employees too. and medical insurance for full time employees

    Cons

Low wages, poor communication between management and employees now with the upcoming changes who knows what will happen, they will now require video interpreting sad for those of us who are happy without having to see peoples faces...back to back call no getting a chance to breathe.

    Advice to Management

Pleas try to see if regular employees with good reputations can start getting raises...also paid time off for employees that have been working 1 year...

I worked at LanguageLine Solutions part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home; interesting and challenging interpreting experience; learn new things every time; get some insider knowledge of banks, and insurance companies.

    Cons

Shifts are not flexible; after you choose your shift, it's hard to change; there are minimum shift hours per week.
Sometimes the interpreting experience can be very stressful, especially with 911 emergency calls. Interpretation over the phone for hospitals and courts are hard.
