I worked at Lanier Parking full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a job, and I got paid $1.25 above minimum wage. In downtown so you get to see a lot going on.

    Cons

To much backbiting by everyone including managers. Two face people where you feel wanted at first then true colors flash on and off as the days and weeks go by. Don't get informed very well as to what is going on until you discover something and feel the need to ask or you get caught doing something you did not think was wrong because no one informs you. if you are a minority you will feel like one. They do a poor job of disguising that matter and it can get a little uncomfortable. Poor management overall. There is no accountability. Meetings are pointless. And management always seem to have an attitude which creates unnecessary stress throughout the day. The logic does not make sense to arrive at 5am to clean a garage for 8 hours when in reality it takes the oldest person who works there who is in the 70's 2-3 hours to clean the garage. then they get mad when you are not doing anything so you have to pretend to be working to convince them you are working when they really know down inside that you arnt doing anything but it makes them feel and look good and gives them something to report...so in another words by your actions and theirs, you lie by pretending to work then lie by not really doing anything and then in response they lie by accepting your lie then they falsely report to there bosses and corporate that all employees are 100% busy and yeah...you get the point. Not a lot of honesty. I would not suggest this job to anyone maybe to the one kid who bullied all the nerds I would so he could get the taste of his own medicine other than that I wouldn't suggest it. If you do however take it, take it while you are looking for better options. It is an easy job and easy money but Ill advise you get out within 2 or 3 months. That should be enough time to get a nice job you will like.

    Advice to Management

Treat workers like they are humans, which means when there is a company policy change let all the workers know at the same time. Don't just randomly say it in a casual conversation and expect the worker to catch it and pass it one . Also if you go on vacation it would be nice to know so your coworkers don't just call the office and none is picking up and they have to reach you on your cell and then find out you are on vacation. Stop being so stuck up and show more personality, gloomy energy rubs off on your coworkers. If you show you don't want to be at work don't expect you coworkers to want to look like they are at work either. Don't treat the minorities like a project specially the ones you favor. If they are not complying to the rules then be just as strict on them as you are on the ones that you don't like or the ones that do have some kind of stable life/upbringing.

    Pros

If you have a good manager you will enjoy beside that everything else is ok. Is not a bad place to work but definitely not for a long run

    Cons

The company has gotten worse now... no raise. When company is expanding but they are not recognizing the real workers

    Advice to Management

    Give people raise they deserve

I have been working at Lanier Parking part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the good things are: working outside, having the freedom to run your shift your way, and the people you work with.

    Cons

Sometimes a simple job like parking cars can be overcomplicated by management, and working in the service industry has its cons.

    Advice to Management

Keep it simple. Don't overcomplicate an easy job. If possible hire people who will run for an entire shift.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

The majority of the customers (including doctors/nurses in this building) and patients are a joy to work with on a daily basis. The tenants always let you know how well you were doing your job even when the supervisor always had negative things to say.

    Cons

Some of the worst management I've ever been apart of. The supervisor (who may or may not still be there, not sure) is pretty much a snake who will say one thing to your face, and tell another person the opposite. Whatever was going on in her personal life seemed to directly play apart in treating her employees like garbage, while putting on a front for regional managers and corporate type people. Also, it seemed like they deliberately wanted a very small staff doing every single thing instead of having a sufficient number of people to do certain tasks. It's like they purposely wanted to run a very inefficient operation, while 100% expecting their employees to get everything done. The supervisor also had a habit of telling you all the things you were doing wrong, even though customers, patients, and building tenants always approved of the work the employees (i.e: the valet attendants) were doing, and often times, they knew exactly how hard the supervisor was making things for the employees.

    Advice to Management

    1) Get rid of that supervisor of they haven't already
    2) Bring supervisors who are not petty and out to get you
    3) Possibly sell the company and start from scratch

I worked at Lanier Parking part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most managers are willing to work with your schedule and make sure you're taken care of.

    Cons

Some managers don't care about your schedule and expect you to be 100% all the time.

    Advice to Management

Look to get more feedback from employees. I was barely ever asked what could be improved during my time there.
