I have been working at Larry H. Miller Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Iv'e worked for two Larry H Miller dealerships. It is a great company to work for.
Competitive pay plan, good training through FCA, co workers are easy to get along with, GM supplies you with initial work attire with a couple polo shirts and a jacket. Ties not required. They tend to promote from within. Great product line with CDJR

    Cons

Long hours but that is the nature of the business, the lot is big so there is a lot of walking. These are not really cons just conditions and I need to fill the box with 20 words.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes sales responds to negative motivation but not always.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Larry H. Miller Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Let you have as many hours as you needed, and offered over time occasionally!

    Cons

No room to grow. A lot of people come and go in such a short time.

    Advice to Management

Ask the employees what you can do to keep them. And maybe pay the Lot Techs a little more, because they work extremely hard year round!

    Pros

This were no pros, very bad experience.

    Cons

All negative, there was nothing positive waiting 2.25 hours with no acknowledgment that I was even there.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect. Based on my experience, sales people are treated like dirt by management.

    Pros

Company operates in many diverse areas.
    Management is considerate

    Cons

    Management isn't open to innovation
With a company so involved in Utah (bees, jazz, etc) the employee perks could be better - even consider Trax passes.

I worked at Larry H. Miller Group full-time

    Pros

Occasional tickets to events including Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, Tour of Utah, and SL Stars. Discounts on Megaplex food and movie tickets, Fanzz stores, etc.

While there is no guaranteed, set discount on a car, once you get to know your management (and you do a good job for them) they will likely give you a good deal on a car. They will also be generous in offering a loaner when your car is getting repairs (which is discounted as well).

Frequent company lunches and leftover food from other events. Good office equipment and nice Macs. Also, they will help you subsidize your phone. Larry H Miller is also a great name on your resume.

The marketing team will do semi-annual retreats where you get to meet together, improve your training, and eat at nice restaurants. Annually, you get to stay and a nice hotel.

The office building is nice and you have access to great views. It's also two-three minutes from I-15 so that's cool.

    Cons

Not uncommon to feel "less" of an employee if you've never actually worked in car sales. Upward mobility has been a struggle for marketing employees but sounds like they have ambitions to correct that and create an atmosphere for learning and growing.

Raises are difficult to obtain and inflation is not factored. The automotive industry as a whole is "behind the 8 Ball" and a little behind on technology and marketing best practices. While you get many standard holidays off, it's not uncommon to work on a holiday since the dealerships are still open and require assistance.

The perks, like getting a better-than-average deal on a car and discounted Megaplex tickets and food, are more of a struggle than you may realize. Many Megaplex employees are untrained on discounts and fail to give the appropriate amount. It may be because the dealerships have their hands tied, but getting a solid car deal is still difficult (mostly for new vehicles).

    Advice to Management

Follow through on creating a better career path / growth opportunities for the marketing team.

Review other companies' marketing perks and see where you can improve (telecommuting, more structured team-building activities, extra time off, etc).

1% raises AFTER three years in absolutely insane. This may work for VPs and high-ranking employees, but for lower-level employees, that's not nearly enough. Let your employees know that every year, you will critically evaluate their performance and reward them based on that. At bare minimum, reward them for staying with the company for another year. It doesn't even need to be 4-5% raise every year. We're not asking for much...
