I have been working at Larsen & Toubro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Somewhat professional office, at least the office is nicely decorated

    Cons

Always changing environment, poor management (never available) lack of delivery skilled managers off shore in India

    Advice to Management

Get better delivery managers in India and get them to come to US for client /projects for long term...Put managers in place who are able to travel/VISA for long term projects. As well, get more VISA ready and US based delivery people.....

I worked at Larsen & Toubro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Will retain you even if you don't have any productive work.
Few (1 out of 50) managers are good to newcomers

    Cons

Once you enter as a site engineer you will considered as a supervisor than an engineer. You will have to stand on site even if you don't have anything to do ( just watch what labors are doing).
    Worst job timings.
No one will care about your interest of work.
HR people are not co-operative ( It has been a year when I left this company and still haven't received my experience letter)

    Advice to Management

Please ask GET about his area of interest otherwise you are ruining his/her career.
Do consider of revising job timings for site engineers.

I have been working at Larsen & Toubro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Not yet seen any pros

    Cons

A lot many cons are there. After joining this company I have seen only cons and cons. So I can not tell you how unpredictable to work here. Every one is working for progress but here there wont be any progress. You can not forecast your future, can not plan in a good way. Every thing is depend on the salary but salary is like a slave worker salary. So it is very hard to explain about a good thing of this company but easy to show a lot of bad thing of this company. Politics and references on growing is like the company patent and right, as this is running inside the company. So all I can say is, to seeing future in this company is a wrong decision. (A pain can only feel by the Victim not by the Culprit.)

Former Employee - Administrative Assistant in Rockford, IL

    Pros

    Flexible hours, work life balance.

    Cons

The team leads that I dealt with on a daily basis... many had major integrity issues. I was asked many times to "cut-corners" relating to the US Government regulated Export approval process. Other times, I witnessed team leads belittle their staff in a public forum... When I asked the employees why they do not say something to L&Ts Management... the response was always the same.. they were concerned if they did.... L&T would send them back to India.

    Advice to Management

Those that are on assignment in the U.S.A.... L&T should train your employees of the US culture and adhere to the US employment laws prior to coming to the states, and provide those here on a VISA with more then 72 hours to pack up and be on a flight back to India.
