I worked at Las Vegas Sands full-time

    Pros

benefits, schedule structure and consistency, location

    Cons

compensation was grossly lower than average for the position, stringent attendance point system, open racism and sexism around the workplace, passive aggressive miscommunication and disengagement between information technology organizations (infrastructure vs. security), work life balance was unhealthy considering the length of the work days and lack of exposure to the rest of the company in the secluded office at the time

    Advice to Management

that was years ago; i'm not sure how the organization has changed

    Pros

    Great health insurance.
Usually get a large annual bonus.

    Cons

Like all gaming corporations there is a lot of red tape. It is very difficult to implement anything new.
There is a lot of continuous turn over in upper management. There were at least 4 CIO changes during my 4 years at the Sands.

    Pros

Ability to continue your education. You will have an opportunity to obtain multiple certifications while you are employed. 100% employer paid benefits.

    Cons

Culture seems to be lacking. If you do not have a thick skin, I wouldn't recommend working here.

    Advice to Management

Find what kind of culture you want to have and have that become a part of the hiring process. This is directed to the department level more than the company as a whole.
