    Pros

Most of the employees have been here 10+ years. Small business with family atmosphere. Management, including CEO has open door policy for all. Flexible hours. Enjoy going to work & working with other Lasco employees. Working to grow the business in retail.

    Cons

A small business so growth limited.

    Advice to Management

Keep trying to grow the business.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Lasco Foods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be good. If you want to blend in with the woodwork, just don't make waves or ask questions and it's easy to be forgotten about. You can disappear and do your own thing as an outside sales person.

    Cons

Gets rid of anyone not related to, or in bed with, management. Changes priorities on a whim. Expects every new idea to be the savior of the company and make management multimillionaires. CEO hasn't had an active role in day to day management for years. Abdicates that to brother-in-law in purchasing and the finance person. Don't pay their bills on time. Changes ingredients or packaging to save pennies without considering impact on production, customers, sales, product performance, and so on. Does not appreciate, recognize or compensate any sales person that brings them very profitable business worth hundreds of thousands or millions of $ in annual revenue and profit, or money saving improvements. No checks and balances for any department. If you take a hard look at the "management", it's easy to see previous failures in retail food, purchasing, finance, real estate investment, and so on.

    Advice to Management

Just admit it, you have no idea what you are doing. Do you? Don't worry, you will be out of business soon.

    Pros

The outstanding products and reputation. The benefits are decent, as well as the flexibility to work whenever it is convenient with very few exceptions.

    Cons

The salary and some of the benefits are very low in comparison with the industry. The lack of direction from senior management. They seem to keep things very secretive and will change their minds or direction on the spur of the moment. The nepotism within the company hurts them. There is a sense of collusion between the CEO, his brother-in-law the buyer and the CFO. They are a very cash poor company who stretch out the length of time for expense reports and other payable items. They will deny legitimate expense report claims with no explanation. They are very slow to respond to any request.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Correct the things that are wrong in the company and stop trying to blame the short comings of the company on the employees
