Laser Cosmetica is a leader in the industry and has been in business successfully for 9 years without any change in ownership. LC is a stable company where individuals are encouraged to take accountability and ownership of their positions and are rewarded with a very generous bonus structure in addition to a base salary which exceeds similar positions in competitive companies.
There are frequent training sessions with a leading physician in laser technology, emphasizing safety protocols and techniques. The paycheck in the 5 years I have been working here has not once been late.
The industry is very competitive and the demands are therefore stressful. Its easy to get burned out if you have no experience in managing client relations and staff. As LC is very successful you are managing very full appointment books and accommodating demanding clients.

Place to hone skills as an esthetician, the equipment is fair and the appointment book is always full.
The downsides of this company begin and end with the ownership and senior management. The owner will boast that he is the leader in laser hair removal, however his method for getting ahead and staying afloat is by treating the employees like complete garbage.
The interview process is full of untruths and the company motto is to ' sweep things under the rug' when the management does not want to deal with issues.
Clients are completely unappreciated and pushed and persuaded into spending thousands and thousands on services they often times can not afford.
Employees are fired without notice or warning, and held to standards that are not fully explained in the interview. There is no HR department with whom to voice concerns.
The vice president has threatened to withhold pay from employees.
Whether you are an esthetican or a manager, you do not want to represent Laser Cosmetica in any way.

Small company, Direct contact with owner. The medical director is always available to answer questions or see clients if there is an adverse reaction. The lasers used are good quality, espically for dark or tan skin. The products sold are really medical grade.
The computer system/ charting system is very old and out dated. They do not have a training program for employees and they do not certify technicians in the treatments they are required to preform. Each location has different treatments, so not all locations preform all treatments. They don't have a lot of policies and procedures in place for the opperation of the business. They have been late on paychecks and bonus checks several times, and say it is because they are short on money.
Advice to Management
Instead of having "Petty Cash" in each clinic use an expense report to reinburse employees for expenses. Develop a better daily reconcilation system and a better monthly accounting system for clinic sales. Develop a 1-3 day training class for the medical director to train the estheticians before new estheticians start on the job training in the clinic. Create a list of clinic standards: cleanliness expected in treatment rooms, uniforms staff wears, orginization in the clinic. Create a assistant manager or lead technician position to help clinic director drive sales in the clinic. Create a regional manager or director of sales position in which the person would travel to each location several times a month and spend the entire day in the clinic to help train and support sales in the clinic.
