    Pros

    No face time, have the flexibility working from home.
    High standard in terms of work quality.
    Have some talented and hardworking partners to learn from.

    Cons

    Cutthroat and backstabbing culture
    Two faced coworkers who constantly undermine other colleagues, making the job inefficient and unnecessarily difficult
    Slow moving and bureaucratic
    Stealth layoff
    Partners play favoritism and show no interest in developing junior associates
    Fratty and clique culture
    Lack of diversity
    Difficult personalities to work for

    Advice to Management

    Look around and weed out the associates who are destroying the culture of the firm and turning it into a toxic work environment.

    Pros

    Very well-run business; great benefits, pay, and perks; support staff is great; firm is very efficiently run; very talented attorneys; global presence and prestigious.

    Cons

    Lots of hierarchy; hard to obtain front-line experience as a litigator; partner yelled and cursed a lot; not a lot of mentorship - had to repeatedly ask for a mentor to no avail; no diversity at the firm, especially at the partner level; stealth lay-offs; female associates did not get as many opportunities as male associates.

    Extremely laid-back atmosphere
    Hefty bonuses
    Strong camaraderie between employees
    Kick off your shoes at the end of the day and walk barefoot throughout the office
    Everyone is approachable from the lowest on the totem pole to Heaven

    Cons

    Big lay-off significantly changed employee perception about the firm
    Virtually no room for advancement
    "Lifer" employees only leave when they die
    Assistants managing day-to-day tasks for up to 10 associates
    Management will not hire any support staff over 35
    Secretaries marry partners

    This veritable sinking ship needs to retrain it's captains or get rid of the barnacles and trade them in for new blood

    --notable in California
    --people are okay
    --good pay
    --easy location in SF

    Cons

    --low morale and a lot of work after layoffs
    --san francisco office is not strong for corporate work but fine for litigation
    --tension between sf and sv corporate departments
    --very busy and not enough people after layoffs, so everyone is getting killed now
