I worked at LatinFinance part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The events team is friendly and collaborative. The network of contacts and relationships they have is very senior and the events are a great opportunity to interact with high profile execs and learn about their businesses.

    Cons

The follow up (especially with high-level government officials) can feel repetitive. There are a lot of copycat startups doing similar things. You have to explain the difference with LatinFinance a lot.

    Advice to Management

I really appreciated the flexibility when my schedule suddenly changed. I learned a lot and would love a chance to work there again- and build on the ideas for more video content.

I have been working at LatinFinance full-time for more than a year

    Pros

LatinFinance is undergoing an exciting transformation from a neglected subsidiary of a publishing conglomerate to a fresh, dynamic media platform for the finance industry focused on Latin America and heavily investing in new talent.

    Cons

Not a lot of handholding. Employees are encouraged to develop their own approaches often and there is strong pressure to perform and achieve results in every department. Not a place for a cushy job anymore... and as a result, recent high turnover of underachievers post acquisition.

    Advice to Management

Continue focus on hiring good people. Way to get rid of the toxic past!

I have been working at LatinFinance full-time

    Pros

Exposure to high-profile executives in the industry

    Cons

LatinFinance used to be respected in the industry. New management has led to decline in quality, subscriptions, and ad sales. A once respected product is now very difficult to sell. CEO doesn't give employees the time of day. Morale couldn't be lower through most departments. Think twice before joining. Positive reviews must be the CEO.

    Advice to Management

Show employees they matter. Pay them fairly. Don't overwork them to the point they don't care.

    I worked at LatinFinance full-time

    Pros

Healthcare is fully paid for by the company.

    Cons

Very high turn over rate since current CEO took over in 2014. After the CEO bought the company from Euromoney, things have gotten worse, despite lofty promises from management that "everything will be fantastic." The company places cost cutting as its no. 1 priority, followed by profits from ad sales. Management doesn't care about the editorial products, even though this is supposed to be a publishing company.... The editor in chief left the company in July 2017 and that position has been vacant for 8 months while the ad sales team continues to grow. Anyone with some sense of this business model should know that without better products no one can sell ads or sponsorships. Go figure. Back in its respectable days LatinFinance was a market leader, but now it is so far behind its competitors it is a joke. Morale is very low across all departments. Think twice before joining.

    Advice to Management

Take some leadership classes or business management 101 courses because this company sorely needs strong leadership. Also, respect your employees. Try to show up to meetings on time for once.

I have been working at LatinFinance full-time

    Pros

Hugely well respected brand. Travel and lots of it. Entrepreneurial & innovative. Success is well rewarded.

    Cons

Technology (improving but slowly). Dual HQs in Miami and NYC don't aid communication.

I have been working at LatinFinance

    Pros

    - Travel all over the world - Engage with CEOs, CFOs, Heads of State and other senior executives from Latin America's most interesting companies - Small company so opportunities to make important decisions - Part of a much larger company so lots of opportunity to move within the company

    Cons

    - Small, so not always a lot of room to move up - salaries can be low, but bonus structure and commission is very good.
