I have been working at Laura Secord part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice customers, good discount. Great culture and lots of peanut free products

    Cons

Very bad management, bullying from store manager, no training at all, very disorganized and lack of cleaning/sanitizing... Even if we are working with food, there is lots of dusts everywhere... Selling things that are past the BB date because the manager won't do anything about (ie write it off). Also we aren't trained on paperwork but we get scolded if we make mistakes

    Advice to Management

More training and give a better access to HR to report issues (like lack of sanitation)

I worked at Laura Secord part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Being around delicious treats all day (gets boring after a while though)
-Sometimes get tips from generous customers (at ice cream section)
    -30 % discount

    Cons

    -No real benefits
    -Very little encouragement (free treats)
    -Long hours standing up
-Sometimes, there is really nothing to do (often due to poor management)

    Advice to Management

-Do not organize competition between co-workers for sales. The co-workers should form a team, not step on each other.

Exceptional co-workers who are great to work with, learned alot about sales during my time there. Fast-paced environment, competitive

    Cons

Head office people are not kind and they accuse people very easily. They should inform their employees of stuff that is happening to the company

I have been working at Laura Secord part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good discount, easy work, 50% off days around the holidays, overall a fun place to have a part time job! Easy to find ways to stand out by making sure you keep the store clean, stocked and presentable. After 2 months working there I am already akeyholder and closing and opening by myself.

    Cons

You are dealing with the public directly as a csr so other than the odd complaint about the size of the scoop (which is a regulation scoop) or complaints about the prices there is nothing exceedingly difficult.

    Pros

Getting to try out ice cream and chocolates (and eat as much of it as you can when the boss isn't looking)

    Cons

If you want us to upsell, we should be getting incentives/rewards for it

    Advice to Management

Better pay for your retail staff
