    Pros

Lavante has been a great opportunity for me. Everyone working here has a wealth of knowledge and are always challenging me to try new things and grow professionally. While expectations are high, so are the rewards for succeeding, so it is well worth it. Everyone is very agreeable and the company has a very welcoming atmosphere.

    Cons

There are high expectations so if you are simply looking to coast, this is not the company for you. Learning curve in the industry can be steep at first.

    Advice to Management

The new CEO, Frank, is really great. He has a clear vision and direction for the company and is really easy to get along with. No advice here, just glad to be working with such an open and approachable CEO.

I have been working at Lavante full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've been in the industry for quite some time - and have seen many solutions and executive teams.

Once behind the market, Lavante has not only caught up, but is the position to change the Supplier Information Management market. The solution has very few "holes", which the development team is currently closing. Today's offering is solid and can solve the most complex supplier information needs of the largest multinationals, to smaller, less-complex organizations.

With a deep background in collecting and leveraging supplier information, Lavante's approach to the technology is both forward-thinking and immediately impactful.

Further, each employee has a "whatever it takes" attitude. This permuates though business development, client satisfaction, and development. I understand the struggles of the past, but from my vantage point, that is exactly that... the past.

I am confident in Lavante's future.

    Cons

With so much market seeking to transform their procurement processes and systems, and knowing that ERP systems cannot solve their current and future needs... Lavante only suffers from not having enough resources to capture the market faster.

    Advice to Management

The listed CEO on this site, Sam, is no longer here. The current CEO, Frank is a true CEO, doing a great job - and the rest of the executive staff is fully supporting the mission. Advice: Keep up the great work, meaningful collaboration, and infectious energy!

    Pros

Very few pros. There are some nice people who work hard. The product is a dead end tool which does not seem to have any traction in the market. Management seems to be searching constantly for more venture capital to keep the lights.

    Cons

Too many to list. The company founders seem to be living in the past and are holding the company back. Poor marketing, 3 CEOs in 2 years. Sales are slow and revenues are miniscule.
Lack of leadership across the board.

    Advice to Management

Put founders in position where they can do no harm, CEO needs to figure it out or get out so someone in Silicon Valley can run it like a real company, Sales needs to work with marketing and product development. Time is running out for this re-start.

I have been working at Lavante full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Big offices and innovative technologies, no stress.

    Cons

Lack of traction and ability to convert the promise of the technology to revenue. Just replaced the CEO, again.

    Advice to Management

Stop drinking your own kool-aid and accept that you have a slow sales cycle.

I worked at Lavante full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exceptional co-workers are are great to work with, office culture, small birthday celebrations which is nice.

    Cons

Operation here is messy and needs a lot of work. Sometimes it's hard to work when there just isn't anything you can do when the clients are leaving. Does not pay well.

    Advice to Management

Boring work and needs to stop micro managing. Personal growth and career advancement would be beneficial.

I have been working at Lavante full-time

    Pros

Great people to work with for the most part, was given opportunities to grow and success was rewarded.

    Cons

Small startup that seems to be having trouble really taking off. The potential is there, but after several years, still unclear whether they'll succeed or not. Reduced workforce last year place opportunities to grow and job security in question.

    Advice to Management

work to include Operations more in the overall goals of the company, lack of ownership was sensed in the lower ranks.

I have been working at Lavante full-time

    Pros

Aggressive engagement by senior management to drive sales deals--out of the box approach to enhancing client value, including solution packaging to differentiate and speed up deal flow. Lots of smart people who want to help each other win business. Product is well designed and extremely well received--somebody did their homework in building this solution. Obsessed with deal flow and client sat.

    Cons

Need more hiring to match the rapid ramp in business. Growth increasing workload across the board--hectic, tho driving hiring in sales & engineering.

I have been working at Lavante full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A new, innovative B2B product is solving real problems for real customers with real revenue - this is a somewhat rare thing in Silicon Valley these days. The team is great, with a nice sense of collaboration. The current customer-base is strong and growing with a pipeline of major brand-name firms ready to implement our tools. While client adoption is starting to pick up, the product is still young enough that individuals can really shape the future.

    Cons

As with all start-ups road bumps and challenges along the way, Lavante is no different. There is always a pressure to grow the business and be frugal with expenses. The work is rewarding but hard - no slackers here.

    Advice to Management

Keep the message focused and simple.

I have been working at Lavante full-time

    Pros

SAAS product offering with the potential for major expansion and business growth, good management vision and strategy with strong silicon valley experience, opportunity for broad cross-functional involvement and interaction.

    Cons

High growth potential environment leads to a fast pace that is not for everyone, must be independent thinker as time for collaboration on every issue is not available.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide employee base with frequent updates and be sure positive results proportionately affect contributors.
