I worked at Lawton Group full-time

    Pros

One of the things I appreciated about the Lawton Group was the independence, flexibility, and support given to get the job done. I felt comfortable approaching the CEO on several occasions with ideas and suggestions. I always felt heard and valued for them. Several of the ideas were implemented, and the ones that were not were explained in such a way that gave me a better understanding of the business.

    Cons

All companies have areas of improvement, and for The Lawton Group, I would say internal communication would be one. With that in mind, the CEO listened to ways we were able to accomplish this and was willing to work on this area.

    Pros

They USED to be a great company to work for.

    Cons

Something has changed. they used to be a great outfit but all the staff, including the COO, are gone and they are under new management, too. Very weird vibe. (I heard thru the recruiter grapevine that the owner has taken over and is not up to speed on what matters.)

    Advice to Management

Do something more/better to keep good people. Realize that your employees, including those of us in your temporary pool matter.

    "Better pay for clerical positions"

I worked at Lawton Group as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay for clerical positions is close to $17 an hour. There is a variety of work in different industries. There is a discount health/dental/vision plan that starts not long after you begin your assignment. The owner of the company is a woman. I like the owner's partnership with the local workforce project and the local community job center. The quality of the other temps I have met seems pretty high.

    Cons

The temporary positions can end at any time and some end with virtually no warning. Some companies may drop you for less expensive temps from other agencies. Myself and other temps with this company have trouble getting calls and emails returned in a timely manner once our assignments have ended.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the recruiters return calls and emails within 24 hours. Consider reviewing the rates you are charging companies if your candidates are never being reviewed by certain companies.
