I have been working at Layton Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Family Oriented, Professional, Great culture!! Leaders have great vision and passion. They are devoted to creating the best in work flow and practices. Layton also has a dynamic business development team that is effective in securing great new opportunities!

    Cons

Difficult to excel if you are in a clerical position. The company needs to re-frame their view of certain positions and see the value of each individual and their potential to contribute to the company.

    Advice to Management

Stay open to what individuals have to offer------find a balance in workload among associates.

    Pros

Layton is an amazing company to work for. Amazing benefits, great senior management, promote from within, does not micromanage, and family oriented.

    Cons

Great career advancement opportunities if you are not in an administrative position. Sometimes you get lost in the mix since it is such a big company.

I worked at Layton Construction full-time

    Pros

Great reputation with well rounded portfolio of work. Great opportunities for driven individuals. Excellent mentors for younger professionals. Typical compensation for region and industry.

    Cons

As in most of the construction industry experience is valued more than ability and aptitude. Those driven and with potential often are capped out and restricted based on number of years of experience.

    Advice to Management

Yes there is opportunity for advancement. Might not be as quickly as some would like. Great company to build a solid foundation in professional commercial construction.
