I worked at Lazy Days RV Center (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome people to work for. It's like one big happy family. Customers are great as well. You meet people from all around the world

    Cons

The new ceo is making too many changes in such a short time and chasing alot of employees away. Other then that a great place to work

    Advice to Management

My advise is to advise the new ceo not to change everything if it isnt broken. Without happy employees you don't have a great foundation.

I worked at Lazy Days RV Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good opportunity to learn to handle demanding priorities in an ever changing environment. The employees there are amazingly committed to their customers and genuinely try to work together to meet their customer's needs .

    Cons

There is a good amount of in-fighting within the senior leadership team that is well known amongst the workforce. One senior leader in particular seems to enjoy creating turmoil and disconnect within the workforce. She is very good at creating an environment of distrust and confusion without taking ownership. There is a culture of blame and deflect that unfortunately is cultivated by members of the senior leadership team, one in particular. Blame is often passed down to high performing team members with little regard for their retention or contributions. Often new professionals who join the company leave after short tenure. It is a churn and burn environment.

    Advice to Management

Your highest level leaders need to look beyond themselves and their direct reports. Talk to and get to know your people. Don’t have someone else do it for you. Listen, hear, look, see, learn, know what they know.

    Pros

Customer training. Opportunities to become more than what you are. Even though I got let go for BS reasons, I did love working there. In 6 years I had the privilege to work with some great people.

    Cons

Management is lacking. In 6 years the whole business when from being all about the customers, to being all about the company.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees, and let them take care of the customers.

    Pros

My stay was brief. I will never have to work there again.

    Cons

Was brought in to work during a hostile corporate takeover. Was targeted almost immediately by 3 bitter marketing managers who collectively did not know anything about marketing. The three of them took me down like a herd of wildebeest taking out an antelope. They sabotaged my work, hid assignments, altered my code and did everything in their power to have me fired as soon as I arrived, in order to save themselves.

    Advice to Management

    Get lost.
