Everyone was really friendly and very helpful towards me and made me feel very welcome. Extensive tours of power plants!

    Cons

I was somewhat disappointed with they pay as an engineering intern although I learnt a lot over the summer and made the most of it.

    Advice to Management

Take advice from the experienced senior engineers that have a lot of experience and have worked in previous companies and use their suggestions to go forward

    Extremely Friendly People
Recession-Proof Company, as people will always use electricity
    Beautiful Office Plaza
    Commitment to Integrity
    Flexible Work Schedule

    Cons

The biggest improvement I can think of is that the lunchroom could have used a TV. Since that is my biggest complaint, I obviously think this is a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

I think they are doing a great job. Thomas Mason is committed to running a transparent public utitlity that is free from corruption.

    I worked at Lcra full-time

    Pros

While it is obvious some employees see their job as a simple paycheck they get by doing the bare minimum, there are others who are truly dedicated and strive to make a difference in the community. They pay is above average for an environmental lab.

    Cons

Limited advancement opportunities. Management could do a better job at utilizing their workforce.

    I worked at Lcra full-time

    Pros

Stable company with good middle management, nice benefits, and room to grow. Defined career track, and fairly transparent senior management made for an engaging workplace.

    Cons

As a state-owned entity, travel and external educational opportunities were limited. Salary was less than other privately held firms, and office politics played a fairly large role in promotion decisions.

    Advice to Management

Expand training opportunities available to employees, work to approve more competitive compensation packages, continue implementing transparent policies throughout the organization.

    Pros

    Good atmosphere, very safety oriented,.

    Cons

As compared to other companies in the same field, overall benefits are in the lower percentile.

    Advice to Management

Bring the overall benefits from lower percentile to upper percentile. Don't settle for mid to lower benfits for employees.
