I worked at Le Château full-time

    Pros

The people at store level were fun to work with
The discount helped to balance the cost of clothing
You get to build on your interpersonal skills

    Cons

    Very poor pay
A lot of work for little pay
Management is never satisfied and often demeaning
Management doesn't understand the realities of the store front

    Advice to Management

Ask your store team how to better improve the business and listen to them

Give more hours so that productivity can be higher. A lot of missed sales opportunities when sales staff have to focus on operation based activities such as stock

I worked at Le Château (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you're good with people and want easy work, this is a great option. The environment in our store was great (although being at different stores I saw a huge difference in how things were run, so this may not always be the case) and the work itself is simple.

I like the idea of how the company envisions itself, it's just not following though on that idea.

    Cons

I wouldn't recommend working here, in all honesty. I saw a lot of workers there cap out a few (1-2) bucks above minimum for 3+ years work with the company. The company has no vision, and unless something big happens they won't have a future. In my opinion the company is going down and isn't worth investing your time into.

No career opportunity exists (none that are worth it at least compared to other companies), the pay wasn't great - the commission system is skewed against the company, making it very competitive but ineffective (you could be having a great day of sales and have your entire commission ruined because a customer buys one shirt) - and the work/life balance is atrocious, schedule changes weekly, you never have stable work, you're used as a pawn regardless of your preferences.

    Advice to Management

They should have gotten their things together. Things could have been run much more effectively, and the upper management were all "politically correct" sugar coating overseers that didn't allow positive change in fear of offending someone.

Personality wise - my manager was a sweetheart. But that doesn't make a good manager.

I have been working at Le Château part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Commission definitely can work in your favor. Very accommodating.

    Cons

Very competitive and less welcoming for new candidates. The company also designs their compensation to create a more competitive environment, which makes people against each other.

    Advice to Management

Create a more team oriented environment.
