    "Acquisition was Poorly Timed"

I worked at Le Tote full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great culture (catered lunch once a week, yoga & fitness once a week, fully stocked kitchen, minimization of unnecessary meetings, diversity) and amazing co-workers (very inclusive, super intelligent/creative). This company understands and supports a healthy work/life balance. Many people choose their own hours and work from both home and the office.

    Cons

The acquisition of Lord & Taylor was incredibly ill timed and an overall mess. The company had way more issues than anticipated (not L&T's fault - fault lies with their parent company who did not care at all about L&T) and also acquisition was finalized right before the pandemic hit the US. We tried AGAIN to grow and expand the business, but should have just focused on perfecting Le Tote and not been to greedy for more. Acquisition resulted in major layoffs which impacted almost all of the HQ team and the majority of the warehouse.

I have been working at Le Tote full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's great working at the store coworkers are wonderful

    Cons

Making us work 6 days a week during the holidays is horrible and highly inconsiderate. Hire more people!!! We are already stressed out as it is and now we have to work extra time and see our families less. ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!

"Le Tote / Lord + Taylor acquisition is a MESS; the office in NYC is a horrible place to be."

I have been working at Le Tote full-time

    Pros

Office at Brookfield Place is convenient to most subway lines.

    Cons

After HBC’s gross mismanagement of Lord & Taylor, it offloaded the company to Le Tote. Obviously we were grateful to be bought and still have jobs (for now), but it hasn’t taken long to see this is not a good fit. Within weeks of the acquisition, employees have had to work long hours every day to keep up with constant fire-drill requests and haphazard strategy shifts — it’s clear the new owners have no idea how to run this business, just like the previous ones didn’t. Also: within weeks (days, even) of the transition, employees were corralled into a “new” (read: dilapidated) office/floor that ranges from depressing to downright inhumane depending on where you’re seated. More than a few employees have been relegated to stuffy, crowded, windowless spaces, making the outlook dismal not just figuratively but literally. The new owners seem in over their heads and are certainly in no rush to fix this. Everyone gets the sense that keeping quiet is the only way not to be fired, considering how terribly the business is doing. It’s a horrible place to be. Honestly it would have been better if the brand had closed with some dignity.

I have been working at Le Tote full-time

    Pros

Nice (err kind of) people but they don't aren't big on continuity. ever.

    Cons

I've seen 5 people leave within the last week and they were standard, at least 1-year employees. I can't say I see this business succeeding.

I have been working at Le Tote full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There was a period of chaos when I started, but now the engineering team has settled out and it's a great team of very good people. The project management and product management are the best I've seen. The work required is detailed with fantastic designs and requirements, and they are flexible if things need to change mid-stream. They understand how software is built and there are no hard deadlines, just estimates and prioritization. Work/life balance is top notch. They have the "unlimited" PTO policy that everyone knows is a farce... but if you want to use it you can. I've never been denied a request. There are opportunities to branch out into different areas of the code if you want to learn. It's a small team so your voice will be heard. Overall a very satisfying place to work.

    Cons

Sometimes the upper management makes questionable decisions. Sometimes I feel like they care about money more than they care about building a great product or about their customers. I guess you kind of have to be that way when you run a business sometimes, and that's why I'm not a business person.

I worked at Le Tote full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Not many - nice people that do all the work. Be careful some are back stabbers.

    Cons

To many chiefs and not enough Indians. Supervisor conflict with others and they don’t hide it. If you don’t give 120% you’re gone. Pay is crap and don’t expect a raise to soon, maybe a year or 2 if you’re lucky. Don’t apply there
