I worked at LeSportsac as an intern

    Pros

I interned in the marketing/public relations and had a really great experience. My bosses were friendly and really made an effort to help me learn about the industry. It was a laid back atmosphere but I learned a lot and had a very positive experience.

    Cons

I was only able to intern twice a week due to school so I wish I was able to learn more. Although, they were very accommodating with my crazy schedule.

I have been working at LeSportsac full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    benefits are good
    vacation is good
americans that work there are very nice

    Cons

there will be a Japanese person micromanaging everything you do even if you have more experience than they do
they do not respect or promote women. they believe you have no value and should be home taking care of the kids.
Itochu the parent company does not understand American business and they will fail at every brand they aquire

    Advice to Management

sell the Lesportsac brand to someone who can preserve the brand name and history. Hire an American president, stop bringing in Japanese management to run the business when they have no history in running U.S. Fashion brands.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at LeSportsac part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mostly good people to work with. Management is very flexible and understanding when it comes to making your schedule. Great discount on merchandise. Most work days are generally easy going. Good benefits/ PTO if you're full time. Company has flaws but this is by far the best retail company I've ever worked for. I've found working in retail to be extremely unpleasant and disheartening in the past.

    Cons

Upper East Side is a neighborhood filled with nasty people. This would be my biggest complaint. If you can tolerate rude people then this job is perfect for you. Not much room for advancement. Also the chances of getting a raise are slim.

I have been working at LeSportsac full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The other staff members are great and all have a contribution to the store

    Cons

Haven't come across one except it would be nice to join some other companies and close Thanksgiving.

    Advice to Management

Bring back Thanksgiving so we can be thankful with our loved ones.

    Pros

You make your own schedule, a lot of personal freedom and trust given to you by the company.

    Cons

Low pay, no benefits, no internal growth

    Advice to Management

Consider offering full time with benefits and moving to corporate after employees have proven themselves
