I have been working at Leap Motion full-time

    Pros

    - Mission-driven organization with amazingly talented employees (top 1% in their field) - Coworkers who genuinely care about each other's well-being - All hands on deck start-up mentality when it comes to different roles, allows for lots of personal and professional growth - Front row seat to watching really cool technology get developed (also we get to play with some pretty awesome dev kits) - Beautiful new office...

    Cons

    - Fast-paced/chaotic work environment--there's lots going on around here, which can make it difficult to keep track of priorities. Management has turned its focus to this issue of late; however, by instituting OKRs and other project management processes.

I have been working at Leap Motion full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - fun technology & team - remote work

    Cons

    - founders are some of the worst in Silicon Valley - no technical leadership

    Advice to Management

I've worked here for over two years. The founders "fib" to employees on a regular basis or talk to us like we are children. The CTO can't provide any leadership because we don't respect him. The CTO's shameless greed ruined a huge acquisition opportunity.

  3. Founders are bad but team is otherwise great

I have been working at Leap Motion full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Leap has an impressive technical staff and a world-class technology.

    Cons

The entire engineering team dislikes the CTO. The former CFO quit because of CEO is so bad. Most people stayed for last year because of one trusted executive, not founders.

    Advice to Management

Founders should resign immediately. The CEO has been absent, which is nice.

I worked at Leap Motion full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

+ Game changing and historic technology + Very flexible hours and progressive working from home + Smart and friendly engineers and operations management + Fast paced and highly innovative R&D culture + Fast and accommodating IT support

    Cons

    - Founders were unfathomably narcissistic and professionally incompetent - Baffling inability to construct a legitimate business model from incredible technology - Extremely toxic, inexperienced and non-technical engineering managers were empowered over veteran engineers - Rapidly burned through all of the funding they had on terrible business strategies - By far the worst job and years of my adult life, a truly traumatic...

    Advice to Management

Focus on sound business strategy instead of pivoting every few months from bad idea to bad idea like a confused R&D lab. Normally, one would have to try very hard to kill a company with technology like Leap Motion's.

    Cons
