I have been working at Ledcor full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Sense of culture and spirit within teams is average. Free lunch and pizza with projects. Long weekends, time off and vacations are good.

    Cons

Outside of individual teams, relationships are defined by ego centric leadership vested in personal gain. The share plan is unreachable for most people. There are lots of poor behaviours between peers competing for top positions. Be careful about the performance management process - it's more about opinion shopping than true job and performance evaluation. Salary increases are subjective and not based on merit. Pay...

I have been working at Ledcor full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

One of the biggest construction companies in Canada. Many intelligent people work here with lots of experience. Good place to get your feet wet in construction.

    Cons

No regard for the employee and all about the business. It's understood to get the work done, but there are several other ways to handle scenarios and issues in lieu of what was done. Bureaucratic -- probably because of its large size and different businesses. Almost no chance to to progress in your career if you are dealt the wrong hand in senior management. Lots play favorites and really take care of employees -- others...

    Advice to Management

Senior Execuitve team seems oblivious to how the company is being led by new execs. Lots of VP's doing things that don't align with executive messages and culture. New execs have their own agendas.

    I worked at Ledcor full-time

    Pros

Going to work with people at your level is one of the strongest pros. You don’t go to work every day for management or the company.

    Cons

    - No diversity at the executive level, even with so many changes over the years. - Genuine or authentic leadership is impossible to find - mostly looking for their big bonuses and raises while the rest have to deal with average or below average recognition. - The interest to make a better company is more grass roots than from the top - resulting in little movement forward. - Lots of system changes lately without...

    Advice to Management

Get some fresh thinking into the leadership level. Training up leaders stuck in the 70’s only gets them to the 80’s. Systems still frustrate - seems like they are starting things today that other companies did 10/15 yrs ago. HR and Accounting are not where a big builder should be focused in 2019.

I worked at Ledcor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pays for your housing when you are assigned to knock door to door outside of the greater vancouver area.

    Cons

Horrible management. Very unorganized. They hype up all their field sales rep into making a lot of money to get you in the job but at the end of the day you make close or less than minimum wage because it is fully based off commission. Inconsistent hours, could be working for 8 to 12 hours a day and get no weekend off. Try and avoid this place at all cost, they are always heavily recruiting to hide their attrition rate....

I worked at Ledcor part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Half days on holiday weekends. United way fund raising events.

    Cons

Senior leadership is very disrespectful and talks negatively about employees. They promise raises and development but do nothing. Executives only get in trouble when they get caught like when something is in the news. Most of the times they get away with saying and doing things that would never be allowed to done at other places. HR can't be trusted and don't help when you have real problems.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want to fix things, then don't promise you are going to.
