I have been working at Legacy Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Leadership/administrative team make themselves visible and participate in a lot of events where employees can meet them/get to know them. Legacy Health has adopted a great Lean model that has trickled down to many of the departments, including the pharmacy department. Constantly working on community and also diversity initiatives.

    Cons

Pharmacy department in all sites does not get enough recognition for their services and initiatives. It would be great if all staff knew that pharmacy week is in October and would acknowledge our services as we do with RNs and MDs, etc. Apart from that, not many cons.

I have been working at Legacy Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule in a non-punitive environment. Freedom to present ideas that may be different from the rest of the group and pilot them to see if they work or fail.

    Cons

Paid time off is limited to when your respective doctor wants to take their vacations. We are asked to either flex (go home and use vacation time or unpaid) or float our time to another clinic.

I have been working at Legacy Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Legacy puts patients first and empowers their nurses to do the right thing. They have one of the best pay scales and nurse to patient ratios.

    Cons

It is tough to move departments if you don't have previous experience with that departement. You can get stuck in your current position.

    Advice to Management

Give nurses a chance to grow and develop by giving them opportunities to work in different departments.

I have been working at Legacy Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My experience with the hiring process and now with working for Legacy has been wonderful. Through the hiring process I was always kept informed of what was going on, my recruiter and manager were communicative, and the entire onboarding process was smooth. Now that I've been working here for a few months I know for a fact that I chose the right company to work for. Legacy respects their patients, employees and community. I'm so glad I made the move.

    Cons

No company is perfect in every way, of course. But I haven't come across any negative aspects yet.

    Pros

Legacy is driven to provide excellent quality, patient care, and service. The bottom line at Legacy isn't the costs of patient care but instead it keeping up with growing technology and evidence to promote the most optimal patient outcomes.

    Cons

Only con is that employees must fill there prescriptions at Legacy pharmacies located near the hospitals which means log drives to Portland to pick up medications for those that don't live close to the hospital.

    Pros

I've worked in military medicine, private practices and corporate. Legacy takes all the good things from these 3 distinctly different work environments and blends them together wonderfully. There is a great deal of transparency and collaboration. Our mission statement has our people first - and this organization DOES take care of its people. We practice in a Just Culture, so we're tough on process but soft on people, allowing us (as an organization) to actually find broken processes and fix them for the system for greater safety!

    Cons

Well, it is a larger organization - so sometimes change takes a little longer than we'd like.

    Advice to Management

Keep the transparent communication coming. We appreciate your leadership!
