I have been working at Legal Aid Society full-time

    Pros

Great benefits. People are encouraged to take time off. Supportive environment. Not micromanaged, your practice belongs to you.

    Cons

Culture of Liberal Fascism. The pay should be at least 10k higher across each grade. Upper management is hypocritical, snooty, and aloof.

    Advice to Management

Get of your high horse. Don't forget where you come from. Make room for the people who see the world differently than you, yet still support the Society's mission.

I worked at Legal Aid Society full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great staff, hardworking and dedicated.

    Cons

Job satisfaction depends on which department you work for. Top heavy, tone deaf management tends to want to micromanage. Distrust of staff. Not only do they have a sign in/out sheet mandatory for staff, but receptionist keeps separate sign in/out sheet to be sure staff isn't lying. Employee morale often low.

    Advice to Management

These are professionals. Treat them like it.
