I have been working at Legal & General Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

beautiful building, indoor gym, great pay, personal space, you can get certification at your own pace with no pressure.

    Cons

Difficult to move to a different department if you want to move up in the company or even make a change. Training is highly lacking. Some departments have DOS systems and you work using function keys and black/green screens. Supervisors are not all certified ! but they can run a department? Employees know more than the supervisors and are certified.

    Advice to Management

Pay for better computer systems instead of ice cream days. Have the managers take all the LOMA classes for there job and get certified.

I have been working at Legal & General Group full-time

    Pros

Can work form home, however becomes a catch 22 with availability then expected at most hours of the day

Support from colleagues who will fight your corner in the daily politics

    Cons

Most staff i know have been treated with utter contempt over relocation from Kingswood to Hove, there has been very little consideration apart from policies that are left for power hungry middle management to enforce and who have no idea about what they can and most importantly what they can't do.

Suspicion that closing of offices will be a cyclical occurrence from now on to cut headcount. No confidence in management at most levels.

    Advice to Management

i don't have the blinkers on and i can read financial statements to know the numbers stack up for long term growth. However, at what internal cost? L&G are now just another company to work for that will erode benefits along the way

I have been working at Legal & General Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people. Can be flexible. Nice place to work with a lot going on all the time. Good for overtime and bonuses can be good too. They also offer a great pension scheme.

    Cons

Within my department there isn't a lot of promotions and also salaries are all different so it's not really fair.

    Advice to Management

Things have changed a lot recently. I think the main thing is to try to treat everyone the same and get equal oppertunites as favouritism can be bad.

I have been working at Legal & General Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Staff who care, that's all I can say. Nice location, free coffee even though it's horrible! It's the staff who make it.

    Cons

I hate it there now, used to love it. Staff under huge stress and management really don't care. Completely unreasonable targets. Stress is brushed under the carpet. Antiquated IT.

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff as you used to. Care about them and they will care about you. Get rid of CEO.. he is bad news. Horrible culture being fed down from top.
