    Internship for college

    Pros

They provide protection and mentors, with the option to start your own business. I would enjoy a career with their company to start a business of my own or become the president of the country

    Cons

They're a company and they require a small fee to become a member. I was too young to understand it and I regret not being as wise and talking to the right people

Incredible Company with an amazing product

Mar 5, 2019 - Independent Associate in Phoenix, AZ

    Business Outlook

    Pros

For $24.95 per month or less, an entire family can be protected on a legal service plan. Legal advice from a nationwide network of quality law firms on an UNLIMITED number of subject matters, preparation of your Last Will & Testament, Living Will, help with moving traffic violations, contracts up to 15 pages reviewed, letters and phone calls made on your behalf and more. The membership is an amazing value. The company's mission statement and purpose of providing equal access to the justice system are noble.

    Cons

If you can fog up a mirror, have a pulse, and pay the $99 start-up fee, you can become an Associate. Too little required training which sometimes translates to the blind leading the blind. This lack of required training leads to eager associates overpromising and under delivering.

    Home Office Employee Review

Nov 1, 2018 - Human Resources Generalist in Ada, OK
    Recommend

    Pros

Don’t expect to make money at LS. And if you don’t believe me, just look at their own income disclosure which they are required to provide no matter how much they’d rather you didn’t see it.

    Cons

In your first couple of years you can hope to make $800 a year IF YOU’RE LUCKY. This isn’t even enough to cover the costs of the sign up fee and all the training and materials you have to buy. So right off you’re working at a loss. And even the associates who keep at it for over 20 years still only average less than $10k a year. That’s a minimum wage job and, unlike MCDonald’s, you don’t get insurance and other benefits with LS.

One of the Great Unreported Scandals

Oct 16, 2018 - Human Resources Generalist in Ada, OK

    Pros

I am so glad to have found this site and to see all the current and former home office employees who have had the same sort of experience that I had while employed at LegalShield. It is a successful, growing company, and much praise has to be given to a leadership team who has been able to keep it growing. But, more and more, I see that this growth comes at the expense of the employees, the integrity of the sales force, the professionalism of the attorneys, and the rational self-interest of the members.

    Cons

It’s snake oil, everyone in leadership knows it’s snakeoil. Leadership has made a change in messaging from the evangelical-tinged preaching of Harlan Stonecipher (the God “wants you to be rich” sales pitch) to a more social justice message under Jeff Bell (get even with the establishment by ripping them off one membership fee at a one), but it’s still a service based pyramid scheme where instead of product loading, you push a “service” that most people don’t want to use and, as a result don’t, so the average lifespan of a member is 2-3 years of monthly dues paid for nothing that is then funneled to the law firms and up the pyramid to the higher up’s. It really is a well designed scheme.

    Pros

Being independent with no territory. Great upline.

    Cons

Start up costs much more than the initial amount quoted. Purchasing marketing material, fees for classes to be certified, insurance license(s), website and membership.

    Pros

Actually none, maybe only is they have a good office.

    Cons

It's a pyramid marketing company, your income is based on how many employee you can recruit, and you must pay $249 for membership fee to get started... Just stay away of them and watch them closed someday!

THIS OPPORTUNITY COSTED ME MONEY - Up front costs that are not refunded after 5 days

    Business Outlook

    Pros

I have nothing good to say about this opportunity.

    Cons

    - Activation fee of 99$ as well as the actual subscription to LegalShield 25$/month. - Training was very relaxed. Online presentations, videos and script decks are essentially sent to you, or for you to attend, and thats about it. Not hands on at all, no evaluation, no testing, or any dedicated attention to making you a stronger associate. -100% Commission. Numbers game that will take some time before you see $$ - Expected to prospect your network, your facebook friends, family and get business yourself. No infrastructure here in regards to generating the lead.

    Pros

Fantastic service that allows people to secure affordable, high quality legal advice for most situations. Flexible job because you are working for yourself. You set your own hours and can take weeks or months off at time without worrying about getting in trouble.

    Cons

Since you are an independent rep, you must pay for your own training and materials along with monthly fees.

    A JOKE

    Pros

Eventually an attorney gets back to you...

    Cons

Never the same attorney. Need to explain the case over and over again...Gave me terrible advice. Ended up costing me the defendants attorney fees, would have been a simple fix otherwise but grew into a nightmare!!. Asked to hire an attorney and no one ever got back to me, so much for the 25% discount!!
