    Pros

Great place to learn about top-notch client servicing as clients are really the top priority!

    Cons

Even in a worse shape than other Legg Mason affiliates/subsidiaries.
Negative, chaotic, and toxic work environment.
Incompetent senior management, desperately clutching at straws for solutions.
    No leadership.
No long-term strategy for organizational growth and/or improvement.
Great if you are portfolio manager, but everyone else is treated like a second class citizen.
Lots of "dead wood" employees just serving their time until their retirement.
Academic and professional calibre of employees in general is poor.

    Advice to Management

The rot is worsening on a daily basis. It's reached a tipping point so do something about it rather than sticking your head in the sand and hoping things will improve by themselves.

I have been working at Legg Mason Investment Counsel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The client centric and investment culture at the firm is very clear. At all levels of Legg Mason Investment Counsel the staff is extremely sensitive to client service. Many employees have been at the firm for many years and enjoy strong bonds with their colleagues. Executive management is thoughtful and willing to listen to many points of view.

    Cons

Dominance of investment and client service focus takes attention away from sales effort and growing the business. There are a small number of offices which limits relocation opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to identify growth opportunities and improve awareness of brand in marketplace,
