I have been working at Lehigh Hanson full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lehigh Hanson takes pride in it's employees. This is a company you can grow with. They are very flexible when it comes to a work/life balance.

    Cons

In my personal experience, the only con was the training in my particular roles throughout the years. Because of my knowledge and length of time with the company I've had the ability to grasp on fairly quickly, but this is an area the company should invest more into. Now I do see it getting better, but still needs to be a priority for it's new hires.

    Advice to Management

While it is your goal to do what is best for the company as a whole, invest in your employees. They are the ones who make the company strong. Don't just be a boss, be a leader.

I worked at Lehigh Hanson full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company was good before it bought Hanson. Pay was good, I was in the top 5% of my salary bracket within five years of going management.

    Cons

Lehigh might have bought Hanson, but Hanson ran the show after the acquisition. The Hanson management became very vengeful on the old Lehigh group, and chopped a lot of heads in the first couple of years. I averaged 14 hour days and was still asked to give more - a person can only give so much. My boss told me I was to be a sheriff over the Union, and not a resource.

    Advice to Management

Look in a mirror and ask yourself if you are doing the right thing.

I have been working at Lehigh Hanson full-time

    Pros

It's a great place to work. The company core values are fantastic. They really care about their employees.

    Cons

There are way too many employees that think they can ignore their instructions and do what they want to do. Because that's how we've always done it.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. It truly is a marathon, it's not a sprint. Well done.
