I have been working at Leica Biosystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been here for a little over 7 Years! And plan to retire from this organization one day!
So many dedicated top talent associates who have a passion about the work we do! I enjoy getting to work with such great talent and to work with associates from other OpCos on projects. Very diverse and challenging organization that is results driven. Great positive and energized environment and culture, company values and high integrity.
Lots of opportunities for career growth and professional development within the organization and a lot of trainings available! A great place to start your career or grow in your career. Very global company and associates have opportunities to move into new roles within current OpCo or even another OpCo under Danaher. I have been able to advance in my career several times during my tenure here.
Danaher Business Systems (DBS) provides great tools to drive continuous improvement activities and focus! Very results driven company and focuses on continuous improvement.

    Cons

Low scores on glassdoor not justified, but you usually only hear from those who have negative review vs those who are really happy here. This is not a company for those who are not committed to working in a fast-paced environment and using tools to measure results to ensure continuous improvement.
Need more work around talent brand so people who are interested in learning about our organization can hear from associates who work here and what it is that they like about working for this organization and what has made them successful.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt is dedicated and focuses on associate engagement from top down. Mgmt willing to listen and have been taking actions to keep associates engaged – keep up the great work!
Keep up the good work with Diversity and Inclusion!

I worked at Leica Biosystems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Training department by some great rounded educated training staff. For the most part you can learn from your peers but expect delay.
There’s plenty of work to do so you won’t get bored.
Some great engineers and marketing staff
Pays well compared to other comparable similar titles in the area.

    Cons

    What work Life Balance?
Very lean to the point you’re stressed to leave.

    Advice to Management

Stop dumping so much on 1 person. Balance it out with more staff.

I have been working at Leica Biosystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A bi weekly pay check. Some and I do mean SOME of the people here at the Richmond facility are ok.

    Cons

Upper management here at the Richmond facility literally do NOT have a clue on how to run a manufacturing plant. I literally laugh my rearend off reading some of the positive posts here on Glassdoor. Those obviously are from upper management. Production gets out sourced because they don’t know what to do. There use to be a lot of great hard workers here but over the last 4-5 years there all gone and now it really is sad what is happening here. Continuous improvement does not exist here but they preach it.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Go mess up some other company. I wish I could bring all the great, hard, dedicated workers who use to work here because now it’s literally a dump.

I worked at Leica Biosystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of personal freedom and the ability to do right by the customer. Excellent product portfolio, great support and service Documentation. Great benefits, decent pay.

    Cons

Tons of training, convoluted processes, disorganized at times (especially in the sales process), and no real room for advancement unless you leave the field service side. There is no sense of team either; Almost all the time, it’s every man for himself and a lot of things are very poorly managed.

    Pros

    Great mission, great future

    Cons

Very top down class structure, not a true representation of it's own leadership anchors. Hypocritical actions compared to stated ideals.

    Advice to Management

Spend more effort to gain better understanding of all functions, not just sales, finance and the optimization of operations.
