    Pros

Positive environment, people with a great sense of humor, opportunity to grow, always learning, always have a desire to do better, fun!

    Cons

I hate to be a cliché and tell you that there aren't any cons, but it really is hard to come up with significant cons. If you have a positive attitude, are willing to have an open mind, and come to work every day and do your best to make a positive impact on people then it is the perfect company.

    Advice to Management

    Let's grow!

    Pros

Stable company so you know that your check will clear.

    Cons

I was warned about upper management when I first started. They hire friends not qualified employees who know the business.

    Advice to Management

Learn to separate work and personal life. You are running a business and that should come before giving handouts to friends.

    Pros

    -Approachable senior-level management
    -Great location in downtown
-Fun people on the Operations team
-Emphasis from senior-level management to foster family-type culture
-Challenging and growing industry with leadership opportunities for large projects in various areas.

    Cons

-Some departments under-staffed while company is going through a lot of growth
-45-50 hour workweeks emphasized during the interview process, however once hired most staff noted working weeks with more than 60-70 hours.
-Flexible schedules emphasized during interview process as a perk, but not something that is allowed when working

    Advice to Management

Real estate is a fast growing and very demanding industry. I recommend hiring intentionally rather than reactively in order to keep up with all of the work involved.

    Pros

While other companies are starting to fail or becoming too big - LC remains strong and the reputation is considerably positive. No company is without faults - No Company! Take the negative reviews lightly; you have to remember most people leaving reviews no longer work for the company or were "burned" in some fashion...right? Right.

    Cons

    There are always some cons

    Advice to Management

Good people, good hearts, long tenure.

    Pros

Great location - most co-workers were fantastic

    Cons

the executive team. The CEO has a "type". If you don't fit into that, he has nothing to do with you. They CFO is a cold woman who constantly has to tell everyone she is the CFO. WHO CARES?!

    Advice to Management

My advice is to treat employees fairly and run your business ethically. Throwing parties where wine is freely flowing and harassment and intimidation is occurring is not great. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen. You have been lucky so far.

I worked at Leisure Care full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Interacting with elderly residents every day is so much fun. Most of them treat you like you are their family and it's really rewarding to serve them in their home. Participating in fun activities and excursions keeps things really interesting as well.

Work environment is relatively casual and gives an opportunity to make friends.

Within departments you can build really strong teams.

Opportunities for advancement are pretty common, you just have to do a really good job and know how to talk yourself up to the important people.

    Cons

Working with elderly people who may have developing memory problems can be very difficult. Some residents can be very cruel and put you in difficult situations. Although it is not their fault and you should not take it personally, it can be disheartening at times.

Camaraderie and communication between departments and also with management can sometimes be non-existent. This can cause the job to be difficult.

Management does not always hold damaging employees accountable for their actions. It is difficult to do a good job when others are not maintaining ethics and standards of service.

    Advice to Management

Reward those who are flying under the radar but are doing a consistently amazing job. These are the employees that are not getting enough credit. Develop their skills and show them that you appreciate their work ethic.

Stop picking favorites. You have no idea how damaging it can be to those working hard without recognition.

Ask line staff members for ideas on how to make things better for the residents and for themselves. They will have great insight into the daily operations of each community.
