I worked at Lenati full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to start out in consulting , and you'll get with some of the smartest, humblest, most intelligent people out there. The career advising program is very helpful and a great part of the employee support / experience.
Overall, I learned alot and I'm grateful for the experiences I had at Lenati - it definitely prepared me for success in my next role.
The diversity of clients, industries, and the exec level work is also a huge plus. Overall, while the experience might not be great, it's a great resume builder & you'll have alot of different experiences to pull when you leave .

    Cons

Warning to analyst level hires - the firm is developing a newer model where they can bring in younger employees, pay them poorly and work them hard, all while charging clients a hire rate. This is great for the partners, but not great for the analysts.
Compensation is poor compared to other consulting firms.

The projects are mostly a mix of agency work - anything a market research agency or marketing / loyalty program agency would do, Lenati does (market research, loyalty program implementation, etc.) - which is fine, but not necessarily the strategic consulting promised. If you are looking for management consulting, go somewhere else.

Promotions are political and career growth / mid-year & end of year performance all happens in a blackbox. Unless you have a lot of visibility, it's tough to get promoted or get a fair raise. They aren't as committed to people development as they say they are - people either get promoted too soon or get deserved promotions and then let go and they don't actually work with employees on staffing.

Lots of turnover. Smaller than you'd expect.

Partners are disconnected from their employees and don't take an interest in career development , outside of a select few.

Not an empowerment culture - internally - people are constantly saying no to great ideas from employees that aren't senior level / tenured. on client-facing projects - the staffing model is very risk-averse.

    Advice to Management

Be more intentional with your employees - maybe your turnover will be lower. Remove the blackbox around employee reviews and promotions.

    I worked at Lenati full-time

    Pros

By and large, they hire some of the smartest people I've worked with who are equally humble and down-to-earth. They expect people to come into the office when not on-site at a client or travelling for a project, which is great for camaraderie. They've done a great job expanding outside of Microsoft and selling diverse work, and there are a few stellar people in senior management. This was a great place to start my consulting career.

    Cons

They're not as great as they used to be. They aren't as invested in people as they say. Unless you have a lot of visibility, it's tough to get promoted or get a fair raise. They aren't as committed to people development as they say they are - people either get promoted too soon or get deserved promotions and then let go and they don't actually work with employees on staffing. They staff as they see fit and not what's in the best interest of the employee. There's not much work-life balance and a lot of importance on perception. Either you're traveling for a project, on-site at the client, or expected to be in the cramped, noisy office.

The recruiter is also a poor representation of the firm - I stopped referring people after one referral had a terrible experience. Compensation is low compared to other firms and benefits aren't anything to brag about.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job of investing in your people and be more transparent.

    Pros

If you're just getting into consulting this is a great place to get your feet wet. They have a diverse range of projects across regional and national clients.

    Cons

Low pay, weak management, promotions, raises, and bonuses are nearly non-existent for those who do not get placed on projects with high visibility.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work - the firm is going in the right direction! Keep up the great attitude, investment in people and selling work with diverse clients. Need to work on scoping of larger projects.
