I have been working at Lend Lease full-time

    Pros

Provides stable employment for employees with over five years with them. Good benefits.

    Cons

They are very, very, very slow to react. It takes three accountants and two lawyers to approve buying a 50$ widget. The company is so top heavy they can't compete against Balfour Beatty, PCL, Cleveland Construction, Cummings, Hansel Phelps, etc. Having said this, LL is the second Australian company I have worked for and both operated the same slow top heavy way. LL 10 years, company A 14 years.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate 25% of the senior management staff. Lastly, take Dr. Deming's advice-decisions should be made at the lowest level in any organization.

I worked at Lend Lease full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good place to start out of college. Exposure to a large variety of projects.

    Cons

Management has steadily declined over the past 10 years. Be prepared for poorly set up projects and even worse management from field staff. Be ready for verbal abuse and harrasment on the jobsite. Corporate core values are not reflected in the way projects are run. No work life balance as promoted. Upper management will turn on you for any safety incident leaving you on an island even though they created the issues through poor contract buy out. Recent death on a project has limited thier ability to construct steel buildings do future project offerings are limited. Management does not develop staff. Only abuses them. HR is a joke. If you bring a concern to them expect to be terminated shortly after.

    Advice to Management

Do your job. Support staff instead of destroying them. Stop the cronyism. Support projects by setting them up correctly so there is a chance for success.
