I worked at Lennox full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good people to work with
    Reasonable benefits
    Opportunity to grow

    Cons

Management that is only concerned with the stock price
Director who would say whatever it took to please the highest-ranking person in the room

    Advice to Management

When hiring people -- especially management -- focus on getting the right type of person, one with integrity and honesty, not just the smoothest talker.

I worked at Lennox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a paycheck while it last but that is about it.

    Cons

Horrible Training. Antiquated software. Clumsy procedures. HIGH TURN OVER. After eight months one person was left of the original 10. In my class when I was let go there were 4 left of the 15 hired. They are not going to tell you about the turn over but it is SKY HIGH. Excessively long temporary employment. People were there for long than a year as temporary employees.

    Advice to Management

Try investing time in truly training the people you hire, maybe then you would have a lower turn over rate. UPDATE your software and phone system.

Hire more new graduates, the one with competent to newer technologies

I have been working at Lennox full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small, family oriented company feel within a large, international organization. Lennox is an innovator in the growing HVAC industry and a wonderful place to work. With 121 years of stable history as an industry leader and employer you can't go wrong with Lennox.

    Cons

Not really a con, but you need to be self-motivated, self-starter to be successful with Lennox. Individual responsibility is vital. In many areas we do have minimal staffing so you are expected to carry the workload sometimes alone, but with a cyclical industry as HVAC is this is the model that has worked to keep us a profitable, viable company.

    Pros

Co-workers are friendly and the office is in a good location.

    Cons

IT management is stuck in old obsolete management practices. The management style is dictatorial from the top down. There is no opportunity for input from the lower ranks on improvement ideas. The applications are out of support and need to be replaced or upgraded. They are moving jobs off shore as fast as they can when other companies are bringing jobs back to the U.S. Salaries are below what other companies in the area are paying and the workday long because of all the conference calls with India.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and realize that you have a major problem with IT management. You need a fresh new team who sees a value in change and knows how to implement organizational change. The past practice of IT management only hiring their friends needs to stop,

I worked at Lennox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For the most part, there are nice and down-to-earth people to work with.

    Cons

First of all, if you want to move up in your career, Lennox is NOT the place. It generally takes people 5-10 years to get a promotion. Management is almost all men, and you're not going to go anywhere unless you're in the good ol' boys club. Ladies, I wouldn't even bother applying... women aren't as respected at this company. Lennox still lives in the 1950s. Also, if you have any issues, don't even bother going to HR for help. They're a joke. I visited HR four different times saying I felt harassed by another employee and nothing happened. NOTHING.

    Advice to Management

Promote women and treat employees with talent with more respect. Then they actually might want to stay!

    Pros

I love the place so far, the atmosphere is very laid back, they are very serious about safety!

    Cons

I do not have any cons about this place, so far the place is awesome to work at!

    Advice to Management

The place need more safety members to stick around longer, since Lennox International have taken over, the safety numbers are so much better!

    Pros

Stable company. Don't see many layoffs.

    Cons

Only a selected minority really has much of a career path. People tend to be overworked.

    Pros

You will get a lot of good experiences. Lots of access to senior management. Lots of opportunities to try new things.

    Cons

At times you may seem to be spinning your wheels. Not always getting the direction that you need. You will see people at positions that don't really deserve it.
