I worked at Lenox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part of the job was working with everyone there. Hardworking, smart, helpful, with a will to get the job done. The team members have great knowledge of the industry and are great mentors to some of the junior team members.

    Cons

The morale is low because of senior management and ownership. The company needs better benefits, raises and promotions for the right people. Depending on the department, the work-life balance is nonexistent.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people. Perhaps hire more team members focused on operations management to work out some of the kinks.

I have been working at Lenox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people I work with are amazing individuals.
    Nice area.

    Cons

    Management not the brightest.
Cold calling 400-600 and only getting about 2% of people buying
Customer Services make sales but get no commission

    Advice to Management

The 1-800 number customers call should have two options, transfer to sales and to customer service.

    Pros

    Flex time
    Great dedicated coworkers
    Nice building
    Cafeteria
    Beautiful product
    Sample sales
    Employee discount

    Cons

No raises in 10 years losing long time dedicated employees quickly and with them goes the skill set and knowledge that helps keep the place running
Moral is so low which makes for long sad days
As people leave more job tasks are absorbed and with no pay raises or aknowledgment of your hard work not even a smile from upper management
Old systems that make any and all tasks difficult and time consuming

    Advice to Management

Value the employees that are still left and re-evaluate those positions and reward the hard work people do
Showcase the made in USA dinnerware and get rid of the direct crap from China why are you selling kimonos and yard signs in your catalog? It is embarrassing!
The people left are your only hope treat the employees with respect
Lenox is still a proud name brand help save it
    You need fresh marketing
Treat your employees better especially the ones that been there the last 10 years with no raises there dedication and effort desperately needs to be reconized
Wow if the ceo can crack a smile or a good morning that would be nice!
There is still hope! Please don't run this historic company to the ground

    Pros

Benefits are fair (vacation, PTO days, and health for single coverage).

    Cons

Increases are profit sharing which is based on company performance. No merit increases.

I worked at Lenox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Retail, Direct to Consumer, Manufacturing, Corporate, all under 1 umbrella. Many opportunities for professional growth.

    Cons

Declining industry. Struggling company. Previously bankrupt, acquired by uninvolved investment group. Very poor leadership, employees not valued. I have heard it actually said that if they don't like it, let them leave (after complaints of no raises for 7 years). Morale very low, negative corporate culture. No communication.

    Advice to Management

Stick to what the company does well: make fine chine in the USA. Branching out under an alternative brand name with compatible products is fine once respect for the original brand name is restored. No need to focus on outside acquisitions when the basic business is flawed and struggling. Stop sourcing so much junk. People can buy made in China (Viet Nam, Poland, etc.) stuff anywhere for a lot less money. Communicate with and to your employees. Raises are not negotiable, they should be a requirement. Every time seasoned employees leave the company loses experience and dedication. Senior Management too senior, out of touch, undervalues employees.

I worked at Lenox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Time off is very flexible but you do get the run around that it's busy, its always busy.
    - People are really nice to work with.

    Cons

    - Upper management are a bunch of dinosaurs
    - It is like the old boys club at Lenox when it comes to senior management
    - You will do well if you work in Marketing or Sales
    - This place needs some fresh blood
    - Too much expected of Finance with such little resources and little pay

    Advice to Management

A profit sharing does not replace a salary increase you morons
