I worked at Leopold & Associates (NY) full-time

    Pros

Good people, good environment, well-managed, decent pay, good benefits, Equinox is across the street, hour long lunch break

    Cons

work can be a little dry

    Advice to Management

I was hired by Saul Leopold knowing that I would be leaving in a few months to join the Army JAG Corps. The job provided me with a steady income and good experience while I prepared to leave for basic training. The people there were kind and welcoming and the office environment was laid back. Hour long lunch breaks provided me with the opportunity to run across the street and work out at Equinox. Overall good experience.

I worked at Leopold & Associates (NY) for more than 4 years

    Pros

It provided me with the time and space to seek and apply to other jobs

    Cons

Mismanagement was rampant, which has clearly led to the loss of the one and only client

    Advice to Management

Too late for advice to management. My advice would be to the remaining employees. Management is, in typical fashion, using you, work still needs to be completed, BUT what is going to happen to you after March 1. Sooner than later, the doors will be closing....can't continue to meet payroll without clients. Management isn't giving you the courtesy of telling you what is going on. Don't worry though, management will...

I worked at Leopold & Associates (NY) full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

It gave me access to a computer and printer to look for another job, all while being paid.

    Cons

It's such a shame, this could have been something great, instead, the owner got greedy and allowed the managing attorneys to run the firm, which they promptly ran into the ground. Saul was too busy driving around in one of his Porsches, going back and forth to his ski house.

    Advice to Management

This advice isn't to management, too late for them, however, to the remaining staff. Get out, the only reason you are still employed is because selfish saul needs you at the moment to finish up before he shuts down completely. He hasn't shown you the courtesy of telling you that his one and only client pulled the plug effective March 1. One day you are going to come to work and the door will be locked. Poof....Leopold...

I worked at Leopold & Associates (NY) full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great employees who worked tremendously hard, despite the minimum wage paychecks they receive, which the boss is buying golden toilet seats for his palace. Armonk is a nice location, the employees make the atmosphere great, the boss on the other hand, if i had to choose between himself and a homeless person to be stuck on an island with, I'd choose the homeless person.

    Cons

The boss, the small paychecks for all the hard work and long hours put in. Again, the boss, need I say more?.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management?, I don't know what to say, you took your biggest client from your former employer, and now you lost them. I guess what goes around really does come around. It's terrible that a lot of employees had to fear for their positions, and are forced to go try and find employment elsewhere, especially when they have families to take care of and bills to pay. Better enjoy those golden toilet seats in that...

    Pros

Glassdoor works! The people spoke and the client listened.

    Cons

The business is going under and there will be no more hiring. Mass firings and office closings have already occurred. Get out or be forced out. It is only a matter of time. Amazing how some many people saw this coming except for the one that mattered.

    Advice to Management

Good job Saul! You are better suited to be a used car salesman.

      Pros

....Still thinking... Having a FSA account was nice.

      Cons

If you want to grow your career do NOT come here. You will learn nothing. HR doesn't exist and whenever there was a HR representative they would only last for about two months before screaming "I QUIT" and running out. The owner is not the best guy which is why management doesn't try to change anything or even try to hide how unhappy they are. Medical insurance was horrible. Culture was terrible. It's literally the...

A paycheck hover how small it is and the people I work with

      Cons

Where do I begin?? I have work in a more unprofessional or degrading place before this company. Women are not respected or valued as employees not mention the owner will fly off the handle at the female attorneys. He wants 60-70 hours a week and want to compensate or give any raises. He micromanage every aspects of the company down to ordering supplies due to the fact he is too cheap to spend any money to run the company....

      Advice to Management

Be brutally honest with yourself about what's working and what isn't. Stop being a brown nose and actually do the job you were hired to do. I would also stop hiring incompetent managing attorney that do not have foreclosure experience to run you office they cost you more than you gained.

I worked at Leopold & Associates (NY) full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Free parking and lots of it. Pretty big parking lots. The office was located in a suburban office park setting in Armonk, and was easy to get to using main highways. Armonk is quaint and really beautiful, especially so in the fall. Got paid weekly.

      Cons

The office water just did not taste good to me, nor did the coffee. No cafeteria located in the building, I either had to drive to a cafe located in another building on campus about a mile away, or into town for lunch. Printers and computers were always breaking down. Stressful job culture, in my opinion - my blood pressure increased dramatically while I was there. Long hours on job, and there was heavy volume traffic...

      Advice to Management

If you need to talk to an employee, please take the employee behind closed doors and talk with him or her quietly and privately. Please do not ever yell at your employees in public. Please give your employees the benefit of the doubt. Mistakes happen, they are not intentional, and we are all human. And please do not play favorites. Your employees notice it when you do.
