I have been working at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Consistent paycheck, that's about it

    Cons

Pay is the bare minimum, raises are a joke, summer hours require store managers to work six days a week at some points, stores are intentionally understaffed which means you have days where you work open to close with no lunch breaks, overtime is half of what you normally would make per hour (in contrast to 1.5x) for store managers with nothing extra on holidays, communication between stores and any corporate department are extremely disorganized, if your assistant manager quits (which is common because stores have a high turnover rate) you have to work open to close without scheduled days off (even if that means 7+ days in a row), you have little say in who gets hired

    Advice to Management

Retire and let stores have some actual autonomy. Don't tell us to cold call customers and other businesses. Pay us what we're worth instead of sending us letters saying how much profit you made the past year.

I have been working at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get a pay check.

    Cons

False promises, poor wages, awful benifits, the company only outsources upper management positions, excessive overtime (between 60-80 hours a week in the summer), Micromanagement, disrespectful, unappreciated, force you to lie to your customers and sell them overpriced garbage pool equipment they purchased from aulstrallia and slapped there jacuzzi owned name on the product, constantly getting sued for violating labor laws, unsafe working conditions, poor quality tools, unrealistic sales expectations, unrealistic time frame and location scheduling every single day, Extremely cheap, dirt cheap work vehicles that breakdown all of the time because they won’t schedule any extra time for routine maintanince. The list goes on but to sum it up it’s just another greedy corporation ran by investors who don’t care about there employees.

    Advice to Management

There not slaves, there employees. Maybe if you treated them as such and quit lying and treating them like garbage this company could possibly be a place where people want to work.

I have been working at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Meeting nice customers, but there at more rude customers and demanding, then there us good. Thats the only pro to working there.

    Cons

What's good for 1 store, is unacceptable for another. No cooperate nack up if there are issues. They'll leave ya hanging, unless they come in to fire ya. Don't make the weekly budgets, kiss your butt goodbye. They'll find reason to terminate if ur not making it. Actually expect their employees to demand they sale to customer, even though 9/10, the customer does not buy cause of high prices. They come for the free water tests and that's it. Insurance is insane, summer you work from 830- 815, by yourself, no breaks, no lunches, eat when ya can. Cooperate yuppies, get holidays off, 4 day weekends, store employees get no weekends off, EVER, they black out any vacation being taken from April to end of September, except yuppies, they get them all the time. If there was an option for a negative star, that's what you guys would get

    Advice to Management

Quit with the revolving door syndrome, you do habe employees that are awesome, and you take advantage of them. Burn them out, and expect them to work 7 days straight with no time off, them wonder why they walk out. How many stores has that happened in the last 6 months? To many to count. Minimum wage goes up, you guys don't adjust for that. You have employees who have been there for years, and at raise time you give them .3 cents. Come on know, you are a multi million $ company. It's time to step up Leslie's and pull your head out if the damn sand. Maybe give corp yuppies less of a raise, and give to the store employees, you know the ones that are bringing in those millions of $'s every year. They are the ones who deserve it. Not someone who is paid to sit in a cubicle and design how products should be displayed. Pretty sure you don't see employees driving brand new BMW's that for damn sure

I worked at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies (More than 3 years)

    Pros

other than to put food on the table, none

    Cons

More cons than one person can write. Extreme low pay, horrible working conditions. District managers who don't know pool supplies. You will work by yourself, open to close without breaks. You will be paid (for managers) less than minimum wage for overtime. It's your responsibility to fix things, to leave the store and help techs install heaters, paint the store, mop floors and clean bathrooms while handling customers with a smile. Management does not care about you or the customers only what goes into the registers. You will work every holiday so forget the cook out with friends and family. Read all the other reviews here and if you see a positive one it;s a leslies troll putting it up.You will never work so hard for so little.

    Advice to Management

Bringing in outside district managers to tell pool professionals how to do their job is insane. try promoting from within. When your bought and sold by hedge funds who take millions out of the company then you give out .30 cent raises there isn't anything that can change the 20th century mentality .
