I have been working at Level 3 Communications for less than a year

    Pros

Great Manager, Office Space, Café. Challenging assignments with professional coworkers. Work life balance is excellent. I look forward to going to work every day. Opportunity to learn more about Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, and Blackline. I have not enjoyed any role this much in years.

    Cons

None that I have encountered yet. They want you to learn and grow with them.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. We hope to have new opportunities with the Century Link Merger.

I worked at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Level 3 was ok to work for. Benefits and salary and work/life balance we’re fine.

    Cons

Some people were in management roles that were not qualified. Workload needed to be more evenly distributed among employees. Work at home option given to some and not others and seemed unfair for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Work on communication and leadership and treating employees more equally.

I worked at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company Card Name Brand Great Network Most employees care

    Cons

No work-life balance Top Heavy Most managers are cut throat/trying to get ahead for themselves No incentive to help current customers Piecemeal of networks and back end offices that are not integrated/will never integrate

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the employees rather than the business. A lot of pressure comes from up top. Motivations come from fear and that has to go.

I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great people. Important work. Great work-life balance.

    Cons

Not the newest tech, so you may be working on software that nobody knows how it works. Not a lot of commitment behind testing and good software practices.

I have been working at Level 3 Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Being part of a growth-oriented company is exciting and fast-paced. It's exhilarating being at the leading edge of new telecom technologies with exposure to such a large global customer base.

    Cons

In a culture of rapid growth and constant change, there is a very high level of stress and burnout. Leadership gives only lip service to talent retention and work-life balance, fostering an environment where employees are often overworked, underpaid, and pressured to prioritize quantity over quality.

    Advice to Management

If you truly desire to transform Level 3 into an industry leader in Customer Experience, then start with sincere and wide-spread investment in the development and retention of your employees. Loyal and satisfied employees = and satisfied Loyal Customers.
