    Interviewing and Onboarding

    Pros

I was employed for a little over 5 months and left because of better employment opportunities. My initial interview period and onboarding were terrible. I never received a call when expected and the interviewer never showed on the day of my in-person interview. I waited for over 30 minutes before someone called me to apologize and reschedule. I drove 5 hours just for that interview which never happened. So, some random recruiters and juniors interviewed me for the sake of interviewing and they had no clue about my skill set. There was a lot of rescheduling on the part of my recruiter and I felt that she didn't respect my time. I appeared for six interviews of which only two I found were intelligent and made sense before being offered junior position making <60k. I find that such a waste of resource. Looks like other 4 interviewers were treating me as a guinea pig to practice their interviewing skills. I did accept the job out of necessity because I had given notice to my previous employer. BTW, I had a great boss and team who supported me and I learned a lot over the period of six months. LS&Co. has some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and it is just that their initial recruiting is terrible or it was just me unlucky guy to experience that. I had joined on a DACA immigrant visa with EAD and had initial difficulties completing their employment verification as I have had the petition with USCIS regarding the status change. Both my boss or higher-ups had no clue until one of my immigrant colleagues connected me with the HR guy in Texas who she said had helped her and team too with OPT Extensions, verification and get employment authorized and that he was very humble and knowledgeable. And, with all honesty that was one of my first best onboarding experience I have ever had with any company. I was in similar limbo with my previous employer too with regard to employment eligibility and they didn't give a damn about me. I believe they have an HR team in California and Texas. This Asian-Indian dude is a rock star and helped me connect with the congressman and also helped me in making sure that my immigration papers were correctly filled and submitted. I received my EAD a month after that and I was eligible to work. After, that he even helped me with payroll issues and other onboarding problems like navigating workday, even though I don't think that it was his job responsibility. He literally went out of the way to help me and answer my questions. I would give this guy 5/5. Being an immigrant and stress we go through every single day and our faith lies in the hands of USCIS, I will never forget the comfort he provided me and thereby my family throughout the I-9 and payroll process. It has been 5 months or so and I wish I could remember his name and acknowledge him. Also, their HR Call center is very helpful and ladies are very friendly but a little slow in response. I wish they worked after 5.30pm CST. Now moving on to benefits I love their 401k match program, HSA contribution, Insurance and 40% discount on apparels among other benefits. I would give them 5 stars but that initial onboarding just didn't cut the deal. I loved working with Levi and it is such a historical company. The culture is laid back and awesome. Levi valued work life balance which my current company doesn't :-( but I have better title, pay and fabulous onboarding experience. Someday, I will join back Levi.

    Cons

Please Please Please have better interview and scheduling practices and train recruiters with basic onboarding issues and how to resolve them.

Levis-ok for a job but culture is changing

    Pros

Good work life balance and it sems fairly stable now. Benefits are decent although health package is not great, 401k is good.

    Cons

Mgmt lacks any clear direction even though they are promoting a new Breakthrough strategy. Everyone has become very competitive and political trying to be at the front, and get recognition. Not a lot of cooperation, and you need to manage your image well to survive.

    A Tarnished Icon

    Pros

The heritage and the brand. Levi's means so much to so many people around the world, no other apparel brand comes close. The President of Levis is a great guy. He is the only one with any brains, but he should be weary of his direct reports.

    Cons

-Upper Management are weak leaders. They are unable to make decisions, they are too preoccupied with their own importance. -Confusing Brand Direction -Work Life Balance is awful -No Training, No Career Plans, No Job Descriptions -Only people who get ahead are those who play politics -Short term goals - all that matters is top and bottom line -Constant reorgs -No transition plans for those who's roles change -Layoffs result in increased work loads with no compensation or promotions

    Pros

People there are very chill and are willing to give you the time of day even as an intern. People work hard but work/life balance seemed to be pretty good.

    Cons

The IT and technology tends to fall behind, but that is to be expected in a retail/fashion company.

    Pros

Access to a wealth of knowledge that goes beyond retail and wholesale but running a business. You get what you put in and make of it what you want. There's complete transparency to the profitability of business and where dollars go and where your role in that lies. Health insurance benefits could not be better! They are AMAZING!!! Sometimes get free samples of jeans. Corporate campus is beautiful. Creativity and the intelligence of the people who work at LS&CO are of the highest standard. Employers seeing LS&CO on a resume should be quick to hire!

    Cons

There is no training for entry level employees in corp office. Re-orgs are the norm. After a whole dept is wiped out from a re-org and you are doing the job that once took 3 people, another re-org will happen so you'll be doing the work of 4 people. Also, a year or two later the re-org that happens will be realizing all the people they let go from a dept, they now actually need, so they have employees from field offices uproot their families and lives to keep their jobs or let them go. They say they encourage work/life balance... passive aggressively you'll be shamed and punished for being sick or taking a vaca like it's an inconvenience. There is no accountability for any issues that arise and LOTS of finger pointing within depts, within teams, throughout the company... getting things done takes an act of God. Meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings.... gotta have another meeting to talk about that meeting we had over the meeting! Tons of redundant processes. Having internal conflict over doing what's best for LS&CO in regards to your account when you know your account is in the right and you have to be the bad guy. Other depts within the company not having realization or care to the fact of this burden they place on sales and again co doesn't hold any accountability....

    Pros

I worked for the company for three years and though it ended with me getting laid off I can say that I truly loved working for this company. My fellow co-workers were excellent for training as well as just excellent people. The company is very good about allowing a work/life balance as time off is great same for paid holidays.

    Cons

When COM is given a deadline to enter data for an account, the sales department that is responsible for sending the data to enter, needs to have a deadline to send that info over of at least one full day before the actual deadline to have the info entered. There were too many times that in the last hour of the final day of a deadline, sales were still trying to gather info from customers which puts a strain on all parties involved. I found this to be unnecessary since they knew weeks and in some cases months ahead of the deadline.
