I worked at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie full-time

    Pros

Because of its small size everyone was very close knit and there was rarely any clash between us. Constant events or lunches that let us freely chat with one another.

    Cons

The pay was poor as I made more as a barista, everyone left after a recent merger which was a huge hit to office moral.

    Advice to Management

Obviously and increase of pay to lower level people, but aside from that I wouldn't know what to improve.

I worked at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie full-time

    Pros

    Excellent attorneys and professional staff.

    Cons

Run by a manging partner and few quiet individuals that don't care about their attorneys or professional staff. Don't make business decisions to benefit the majority, but instead focus solely on the aspirations or a few key partners.

    Advice to Management

    New leadership is desperately needed.

I have been working at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The location is nice and there are some nice people who work here.

    Cons

The merger has been one big nightmare. No one took the time to talk with each department to understand what each group does. People were put in positions of power who did not belong there or understand the inner workings of the staff. The decisions that are made make the workplace difficult to tolerate. We have staff that are being overworked because management will not discipline or offer training for those who do not or will not do their jobs. Our new insurance is a joke too! It's really expensive and hopefully we will get raises that will help out.

    Advice to Management

    Why bother..

    Pros

Friendly attorneys. Pleasant to work with.

    Cons

No accountability. No structure or system in place. They entrust people with no IP background or knowledge in making important IP decisions.

I have been working at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Most of the attorneys and staff are wonderful to work with.

    Cons

The firm is poorly organized and has only become worse since the merger. The C-levels do not communicate with each other or the D-levels, so the staff has no idea what is going on. Those at the top have no idea what the rest of us do and don't support staff at all.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with staff. Discover your employees and use their talents. Appreciate your staff.

    Pros

I really don't have anything nice to say.

    Cons

Expensive insurance, lack of career movement for admin positions, long and stressful hours, very clear that attorneys matter and the staff don't

    Pros

professional environment; nice, private offices; access to project clerk and receptionist; treated well by attorneys and other professionals

    Cons

Downtown Phoenix isn't the easiest area in which to park or commute; hours can be long for certain projects; lunch places can be expensive

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Nice offices, pay not too bad.

    Cons

Merger with Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons very poorly done. Lewis & Roca not truthful with employees when it comes to their continued employment. There is no cohesion, an "us vs. them" mentality. Multiple reorganizations, terrible management, very expensive insurance.

    Advice to Management

Stop making promises to your employees concerning how they are affected during reorganizations when you know they will probably be impacted. Treat employees with respect. Your firm has poor morale, and that will continue if the marginalization of the non-lawyer workforce continues.
