    Pros

You are part of a Big family.
Salary is comparable to other Independent School Districts
Benefits are the same for all Independent School Districts
    Part of Teachers Retirement System

    Cons

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Lewisville Independent School System part-time

    Pros

You start out with benefits and they love their employees!

    Cons

You can't "double dip"...if you have one position already with the district then you can't apply for a second one with them. They won't pay you twice at the same time so you would have quit one before starting the other.

    Advice to Management

    Allow double dipping!

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Lewisville Independent School System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunities to work with students who need positive influences
    Competitive compensation for certified teachers
Ability to transfer campuses within district with relative ease
Opportunities to advance in the education field via promotion or professional development

    Cons

District lacks teacher support in multiple areas including discipline, special education, and classroom management
Conflicting district policies leave campus administrators unable to enforce behavioral standards
Teachers forced to teach to state tests (broad criticism of Texas public education)

    Advice to Management

A reevaluation of the districts behavior policies is needed. Teacher confidence in their ability to discipline students who are disrupting class time needs to be restored. Additional resources need to be directed to this cause.
