samll pharma company, right now there it is a bit risky until a deal is made.

    Advice to Management

consider sharing a little more information with your employees on what is happening with deals, as there is too much speculation and to many rumors.

    Pros

Everyone in my department was friendly and helpful and wanted to help me learn. They had a cafe and a cafeteria that the company subsidizes so everything was about half price ($2 for an entree and sides) of what you would get it for if you eat out.

    Cons

Low intern pay for the amount of work done. Volatile company, has gone through multiple rounds of lay offs.

I worked at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Great coworkers
    -always had top-notch equipment available
-small company atmosphere allowed everyone to make an impact

    Cons

    -constant fear of burn rate
-severed the research component to save money to focus on two compounds being pushed to an NDA
-other compound lost in preclinical will never see any further focus

    Advice to Management

the new CEO seems to have a good track record for a company at this stage. he should be able to make the remaining two compounds in the clinic reach market but there is no long term science remaining at the company
