    Low cost of living

    Cons

Extreme chaos as people are leaving because of the move to Raleigh
Low morale and productivy because of move to Raleigh
    Struggling agile process

    Advice to Management

Stop the move to Raleigh and let attrition take its course before its too late. Value the employees in Dayton that are building and maintaining the products that pay your salary. Really listen to the employees as they describe the reasons that agile is not working and address them. Show some real innovation in product development instead of copying the competition.

    Pros

LexisNexis has many talented people dedicated to their jobs.

    Cons

LexisNexis has a habit of cutting too deep on layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the communication. LexisNexis management does a good job of explaining the direction of the company to the workforce.

I worked at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent team members, interesting technical and operational issues to work on, great benefits (401k match, PTO, etc). Fair work/life balance - work hard, play hard if you were a performer.

    Cons

Constant lay-offs in response to shrinking revenues and need to pay for significant back-end investments. Management can't stick to a goal for more than a year; when it gets tough, they fold.

    Advice to Management

Empower your staff to do the hard work. When it gets tough, back them up.

    Pros

Very professional, caring company. Lots of opportunity. Always have employees in mind! Been here 2 and half years.

    Cons

Really nothing negative. Territory assignments can sometimes make success difficult but ultimately if you work them hard it is noticed and leadership rewards with more productive territories.

    Pros

You can have a flexible schedule

    Cons

As much job security as NFL coaches on a 2-14 team. Nearly development is done in India.

    Advice to Management

This is my advice to the NEW management that buys the company. The Lexis Advance platform is nothing more than powerpoint presentations made by BS artists. The Lexis Advance Product stinks. The data is in horrible shape. In addition to your initial purchase price, you need to invest heavily to rebuild the produce infrastructure that has been gutted.

I worked at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time

    Pros

Good pay, reasonable benefits, lots of interesting work to do. The company still has a some excellent individual contributors.

    Cons

LN is weakest of the RELX portfolio of companies with questionable long term outlook. Poor management climate. Frustration at all levels is extremely high. No job security. In habit of cutting costs (people, training, improvements) to keep profit looking good for annual report. Closing Dayton OH office and aggressively laying off workers. They even layoff workers in Raleigh NC office where they are trying to build a "center of excellence".

    Advice to Management

Cost cutting is not a survivable business strategy. Foster innovation by listening to and empowering individual contributors.
