    Pros

Great co-workers who are smart, motivated, and dedicated. If you're willing to put in the work, lots of room to grow professionally and evolve your skills. Engaging and challenging project work. Purpose-driven company with focus on advancing the rule of law around the world.

    Pros

Great people, interesting work, good pay, flexible, and quite frankly the most rewarding mission I've been part of in my career.

    Cons

Legal is not a bleeding edge industry(yet). Other than that, this job is better than any other I've had.

    Advice to Management

In the battle between the steam and the rock, the stream always wins, not by brute force, but by fortitude.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Continues to invest in it's technology infrastructure and evolve to become a next-gen company in the professional information space. There's an entrepreneurial feel because it runs lean - if you're committed to driving a strategic agenda, there's lots of great opportunity.

Company is filled with sharp, talented people - which often makes team work and cross functional work fun, exciting. The company is also active in work to advance the rule of law and help local communities with it's Cares program.

    Cons

Would like to see more diversity and women in leadership roles. Company is on the right track - but we need more.

    Advice to Management

Continue to break down barriers and help us connect with colleagues across business units globally.

    Pros

Cares more for the community and employees than average corporate America. When you have a good supervisor life can be very good. Sometimes the opposite is true as well. Good ideas are rewarded and encouraged, innovation is strongly supported at all levels.

    Cons

company is trying to learn matrix management. There are too many conflicts on situations where no one seems to be in charge but everyone wants the credit. Lack of experience in Matrix means that people are spinning wheels a lot. Company is learning to be more global but still a lot of local "Not invented here" stuff going on.

    Advice to Management

Focus on growth and less on profit at any cost.

    Pros

Great herritage. Working on significant social issues - Rule of Law and Child Protection. Lawyers will never go away and so there's a good source of future customers. The way it's going now it will be really succesful.

    Cons

It's gone through painful change. A lot of outsourcing and offshoring over the last few years to get it's costs competitive. This has had an effect on employee morale but it's getting better now. Salary freeze hurt people. Benefits could be better.

    Advice to Management

Trust employees more and get out and meet them. Stop changing direction and get more stability.

    Pros

They have a lot of opportunity for growth and improvement. They also teach you a lot for entry-level positions. Good environment to be in.

    Cons

There's a lot of aspects to the company which is good for growth, but you might not get the job that you want in the beginning

    Advice to Management

Good training program and have leaders with great experience. Overall it is good to learn from them and see how they made it into the company.
