I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

LexisNexis wants to make sure that you know you are apart of a family. They help out their employees and they also care about the community.

    Cons

As of right now I really not have any cons about LexisNexis. They are always improving to make it a great work place.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time

    Pros

There's a lot of energy in this company. Tech employees from top to bottom have the chance to make a real impact. Lots of transition as the company has been scaling agile, but some really cool things are starting to happen as a result. Lots of emphasis on metrics. Company treats people well.

    Cons

There's a lot change going on which sometimes can be overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on transparency, give people time to catch their breath!

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very professional, caring company. Lots of opportunity. Always have employees in mind! Been here 2 and half years.

    Cons

Really nothing negative. Territory assignments can sometimes make success difficult but ultimately if you work them hard it is noticed and leadership rewards with more productive territories.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This job has been a great way to make connections and earn some money during Law School. My hours are flexible, and my superiors are always willing to work with me if there is any problem that I encounter on the job.

    Cons

There are a limited number of hours per school for Student Representatives, and those are split among several team members. This means that sometimes it is hard to get enough hours per week in a semester.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Home based sales so you have some flexibility

    Cons

Layoffs are rampant and you tend to get nervous close to the end of any quarter.

    Advice to Management

Figure out your capital spending so you can stop making up your lost margins by eliminating your people

    Pros

You work with smart people that get things done.

    Cons

There is no job security. Jobs moved overseas.

    Advice to Management

The overseas folks are not keeping up like you think. It is the people in the states in the background that are fixing everything.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional part-time

    Pros

Very flexible schedule, improves your research skill by teaching other students Lexis tools, fair pay for work that is done.

    Cons

Depending on your school, Lexis may or may not have a big presence. If Lexis offers free printing at your school you will get a lot of emails about jammed printers or lack of paper. Overall its a great position while in law school.

    Pros

Great people, interesting work, good pay, flexible, and quite frankly the most rewarding mission I've been part of in my career.

    Cons

Legal is not a bleeding edge industry(yet). Other than that, this job is better than any other I've had.

    Advice to Management

In the battle between the steam and the rock, the stream always wins, not by brute force, but by fortitude.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Paycheck
Many decent people in non-management roles

Nothing else but Glassdoor has 20-word minimum so I have to say something here

    Cons

    Lack of strategy/direction
    Horrible morale in Dayton
    Constant layoffs and restructuring
Everything is being offshored to Philippines
Constant pressure to increase profit by pinching content suppliers
    Customers view products quite negatively
Customers upset with sales motion of low-price-for-initial-months/years when price increases 4x
    No pay raises in years
Increasing medical costs even as plans moved to high deductible/HSA plans

    Advice to Management

    Retire

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, though we have lost many long-tenured wonderful team members in recent years
    Benefits are still good
Location is good - nice campus, inexpensive housing in the area, etc

    Cons

    Mixed messaging from senior leadership
Focused more on maximizing short term profit than on the long term
Lip service but not consistent action on valuing employees

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the value statement and implement long term strategies that are aligned to professed values
